I know there are very few fans out there of our Adidas jerseys with the UCLA stripes stubs on them.
So, when I saw this this morning, I had to share it with everyone. It comes courtesy of Chris Creamer's Sportslogos.net website, which IMHO is one of the best sources out there for sports logo and uniform information.
It is an image of what could have been, what would have been. If we had only won the second Stanford game, you would have been able to purchase this UCLA Rose Bowl shirt made by Nike.
Instead, it has joined a full collection of phantom bowl merchandise and the Notre Dame 2012 Phantom Championship collection.
The 2013 UCLA Nike Phantom Rose Bowl shirt had a simple design to it, but it's also a solid design. One interesting thing to note is that, compared to the other phantom bowl merchandise, I find it interesting that the location of the Nike Swoosh and the UCLA script logo are reversed. All of the other phantom shirts have the Nike Swoosh in the top left corner of the shirt and the school's logo centered on the shirt below the primary text. Ours has that reversed for some reason. Our logo is in the top left and the Nike Swoosh is centered below the text.
It's almost as if Nike was making a statement of some kind.
I think it provides just a little more incentive to win the Pac-12 Championship Game next year.
