What Will It Take To Beat USC?

As a first year season ticket holder, the following patterns of play have been issues prevalent to less than desirable performance's through out the year.

1. Is it possible for this team to actually play at its highest level for four quarters? Haven't seen it yet.

2. Hundley's inability to see the field. Granted this is his second year and continues to play as if its his first. With all his athletic ability, I don't feel he has the intelligence to be the quarterback everyone expects him to be. Holds on the ball to long. And who gets blamed for the sacks? His freshman line. Well if you held on to the ball for ten seconds, it would be expected. Then again, Mora isn't going to blame him.

3. Offense and defensive coordinators. On the offensive side of the ball, predictability should never be on the defensive favor. Anyone see the Arizona state game? Calling the same play in the red zone against a defense line considered one of the better ones in the Pac-12, given the inexperience on the offensive line. Really? Not enough creativity!

Defensively, instead of allowing the opponent to dictate the game, more creativity to offensive sets is needed. Make the opposing team second guess themselves. Spanos needs to change up his calling. Heck, they have 5 potential NFL draftees, use them. And what about putting those arms up on the pass plays? It can change the timing of quarterback and receiver, let alone knock down a pass.

4. Penalties? Where is the discipline Mora speaks about?

5. Oops! Forgot a very important aspect of the game, FIELD GOAL KICKING!!! How can Mora demand so much of his players when he doesn't provide them the chance to win with a kicker who's ability is far from being at the college level. I've seen more high school field goal kickers who are consistent at forty yards. Six points last game would've been the difference!!! Two years in a row, he's blown the most important points for the team when needed most.

Prediction: Unfortunately, if the Bruins come out in a stupor, it will be USC. There is always hope. Unfortunately it doesn't win games!
