The LA Times reports that UCSF Chancellor Susan Desmond-Hellman has resigned to become CEO of the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation.
While there is no mention in the article of possible replacements, this opens up the perfect opportunity for UCLA to get rid of Recessive Gene.
Gene's love for the all things medical makes UCSF the perfect fit for him. I don't believe the school fields any sports teams either which is another it's a great fit!
The article mentions:
Desmond-Hellman will leave UC in March, and a search committee for her replacement is expected to begin work in January, according to an announcement Tuesday by UC system President Janet Napolitano.
With a little luck, we could see a new chancellor for UCLA by the start of the 2014-2015 school year if Gene were to get the job.
Should Block be chosen, his successor would obviously be under immediate pressure to fire Dan Guerrero.
