I just found this job posting on Monster.com:
Wanted: Experienced bureaucrat to serve as head of
enforcement for major college sports regulationsa toothless bureaucracy.Must have thorough knowledge of NCAA rules and regs.Must have experience doing nothing. Free donuts every morning and open wine bar before all major sporting events. Hatred of Southern Cal a plus.Send resume to:
Mark Emmert
NCAA
700 W. Washington Street
P.O. Box 6222
Indianapolis, IN 46206-6222Or email to:
memmert@ncaa.org
Here's hoping Chianti reads this and decides to send his resume in!
In all seriousness, it looks like the NCAA has fired VP of Enforcement Julie Roe Lach. Wouldn't it be great if Donut Dan decides that this is the job he's been looking for with the NCAA?
I mean, after all, if there's ever been a more toothless bureaucracy in the history of sports, this is it, right?
For years, we've speculated that Guerrerror has been sniffing around hoping to land a job with the NCAA. Well, now the opportunity is there!
The stars are aligned. His UCLA contract is up next month. He'll get his big bonus when he completes the contract and then he can move on to bigger and better things.
On the downside, I read somewhere that Pat Haden has already called Emmert to suggest he hire Chianti for the job because it's the one job Chianti could land which would be even more beneficial to u$c than having him as UCLA AD.
