Open Thread for UCLA Women's Basketball - Second Round - UCLA vs Oklahoma

Coach Cori Close is going for her second consecutive NCAA tournament victory - USA TODAY Sports

The 3-seeded UCLA Women's Basketball team is set to take on 6-seeded Oklahoma in the second round of the NCAA Women's Basketball Tournament.

The game is being played at St. John Arena in Columbus, Ohio, with yet another winter storm approaching, and will be televised on ESPN or ESPN2.

Despite the seedings, Oklahoma was at one point ranked 11th in the country. That's when UCLA visited them in Norman and came away with a tough 86-80 victory. Hearing Coach Close speak, that was a turning point for the teamand they will not be taking the Sooners lightly.

Unlike the first meeting, this game will likely feature a lot of banging down low, some physical defense. UCLA has improved as the season went on, playing stingy defense while making big shots. Meanwhile, Oklahoma has lost a couple of players to injury.

The Bruins put the game away in the last meeting by grabbing 24 offensive rebounds. Oklahoma coach Sherri Coale will likely adjust her game plan to prevent that this time around.

Great to see our women's team doing so well. Good luck ladies!
