Next Basketball Coach - the HOW as important as the WHO.

Fellow Bruins all (even Howlers at this point): Ben's been here for 10+ years and had reasonable success and put lots of kids into the NBA. But, the SI article confirming his domineering, abrasive style just no longer work in Westwood. Its time for CHANGE. My point here is PROCESS. Since Chianti is still running this show, look at what happened with the football fiasco (although, by the grace of God, we ended up w/ Coach Mora, but talk about a Gift Horse landing in your lap Chianti!). Do you have any confidence Chianti will conduct the search correctly - or are we in for another total embarrassment? Thus, given that Angst, its extremely important a specific process be in place NOW – and not cause the SEARCH cycle to spin out of control to where we’ll end up with a 7th or 8th choice. Everyone thought Chris Peterson would certainly leave a place like Boise, ID for a destination like Westwood – but when that exploded in Chianti’s face, there was no back-up plan or process. Thus, whether we want an old tried and true like Bill Self from Kansas or Mike Montgomery for Cal or a young gun like Brad Stevens from Butler, our Search Committee should be out there now canvassing the nation and lining up choice 1, 2, 3 so all this can be done beforehand. Then, after the Bruins lose their final game this year (as this team will NOT make the Final Four) – you simply announce SIMULTANEOUSLY a Farewell to Coach Howland (and good luck in your future endeavors) and may I also introduce the new coach: (place name here). We can’t afford another BOTCHED national search fiasco, and I am totally certain at this point Doughnut Dan will screw the pooch on this once again (BTW, pay him more, he’ll perform better! LOL). Your thoughts Bruins? Are you concerned about the HOW as much as the WHO? Fire away with your thoughts on HOW and your Top Five candidates for WHO! Go Bruins!
