Bumped. Crushing Southern Cal is always fantastic news. GO BRUINS. - BN Eds.
The third-ranked UCLA men's volleyball team ended the regular season with a dominant performance against Southern Cal, winning the match in straight sets, 25-16, 25-18, 25-15. In addition to sweeping the season series against the Trojans, the Bruins continued their late season surge, notching their ninth victory in their last 10 games. Among the highlights of UCLA's recent strong play are a straight set victory over #1 BYU, a 3-1 win over then #2 UCI, and a defeat of current #2 Long Beach State. The Bruins are scheduled to open the MPSF playoffs next Saturday (April 20) against #6 Pepperdine.
The Bruins are peaking at the right time. During the last month and a half, the Bruins have cleaned up their play, becoming significantly more efficient in attack and less error-prone in defense. If Coach Speraw's squad can carry this momentum into the postseason tournaments, the Bruins have a great chance of bringing home another banner.
