Welcome to the Bruin Family, Brendan Cross!

They'll miss you in Winston-Salem, but we're glad to have you in Westwood. - Jeremy Brevard-US PRESSWIRE

HT to freesia39 for discovering the tweet.

According to a tweet sent out by Bruce Feldman, former Wake Forest QB Brendan Cross, who is on track to graduate this spring, will enroll in graduate courses at UCLA and will be eligible to play the upcoming 2013 season. You may recognize the last name, Cross if you watched UCLA football in the 70's or the 49'ers from the 70's until the late 80's. Brendan's father, Randy is a UCLA HOF'er, who played G and C during his UCLA career and helped the Bruins upset Ohio State in the 1976 Rose Bowl. After UCLA, Cross was a 3-time Super Bowl champion with the 49'ers where he paved the way for the likes of Roger Craig and Wendell Tyler, while protecting Joe Montana. He was enshrined in the College Football Hall of Fame in 2011.

Randy Cross is not only a UCLA and San Francisco 49'ers legend, but also a BN fan favorite, as he has not shied away from calling out the tonedeaf UCLA administration and his name has been brought up as a more than capable replacement for Chianti Dan.

You can find Brendan's Wake Forest bio here.

According to his Scout profile, the Alpharetta, GA native, Cross was a two-star, 128th ranked QB who held offers from Wake Forest and Air Force, while Cal, Stanford, Georgia, Georgia Tech and UCLA showed interest as well.

For good measure, here is another Yahoo! Sports feature article on Brendan Cross.
