Per L.A. Times: Alleges Guerrero Lied to UCLA Administrators re: Vetting Alford on the Pierce Scandal. Source: ALFORD

In 1996, National Championship coach Jim Harrick was fired for lying to UCLA administrators about a $900 dinner check at Monty's. The offense was in the "lie." Per this Article today by Chris Foster, Guerrero, per none other than Steve Alford, had essentially prevaricated to UCLA administrators regarding his alleged vetting of his $18 million impulse hire. Per Foster 5/18/13: "Guerrero was also questioned — about whether UCLA had properly vetted its new coach and investigated what happened at Iowa. He said he "clearly discussed" the Pierce situation with Alford before hiring him.
