Alford Missing Opportunities

Although I bleed blue and gold, I do follow another southern California college basketball program closely. I live in San Diego and have been very impressed with the SDSU program under Steve Fisher so I was not surprised to see SDSU land two top transfers recently.

I am, however, really disappointed that Alford has not yet landed a top recruit or transfer. Either of these recent transfers would have been nice additions for the Bruins and would have provided some much needed depth and size. Angelo Chol, 6' 9", came from Arizona and has two years of eligibility left after sitting out 2013-14. Josh Adams, 6"8" and rated by many as the best transfer candidate nationally, came from Tulane where he averaged 17.6 ppg and 10.7 rb's and is eligible immediately for one year.

I don't know if Alford tried to get either of these outstanding players but if he didn't he should have. The silence is deafening on his recruiting efforts and I can only hope there will be some positive announcements soon. So far, he has been one big "missed opportunity" as a coach.
