UCLA Wraps Up 2013 Season With a Win Against Stanford, Prepare to Host a Regional

Bruce Thorson-US PRESSWIRE

Bruins were able to salvage a disappointing weekend in Palo Alto with a 6-4 win against Stanford Cardinal. The recap of the game is not up on the official site yet, but the win gave the Bruins a final season record 39-17, and eight consecutive top three finish in the Pac-12 (previously Pac-10) conference.

Earlier this evening the Bruins were official selected to host a regional this upcoming weekend:

The Bruins will be hosting an NCAA Regional for the fourth consecutive season, making them one of just three teams to host a Regional in each of the last four years (South Carolina and Virginia). UCLA is also making its fourth straight NCAA Tournament appearance, another first in program history.

The four-team, double-elimination regional will be played at Jackie Robinson Stadium from Friday, May 31 through Monday, June 3 (if necessary). The No. 1 seed will play the No. 4 seed and the No. 2 seed will play the No. 3 seed beginning on Friday.

The complete 64-team NCAA Tournament bracket will be revealed in a 60-minute "Selection Show" on ESPNU tomorrow at 9 a.m. (PT). Game times will be announced tomorrow as well.
