Long time ago, the UCLA Bruins were 30-0 and winning the Championship. Despite a starting lineup consisting of four sophomores and one junior, the Bruins were winners of "a third NCAA championship in four years. Lew Alcindor scored a school-record 56 points in his varsity debut and averaged 29.0 ppg over the season, earning the first of his three consecutive player of the year awards. Lucius Allen averaged 15.5 points per game, and guard Mike Warren added 12.7. The Bruins outscored their four NCAA tournament opponents by 95 points and easily handled Dayton, 79-64, in the championship game — in Louisville, KY."
