I hope this hasn't been posted, but I was a little bored at work, and decided I wanted to see what UCLA's national recruiting ranking would be had Craig Lee and Eddie Vanderdoes committed on signing day. The results were actually pretty surprising.
Scout.com had already incorporated both EV and Lee into their ranking retroactively, giving the Bruins the NUMBER THREE CLASS (!) in the country. That's pretty awesome.
Rivals.com required a little easy math. We ended the recruiting period at #8 overall with 2384 "rivals points." The additions of EV and Lee gave us an additional 314 points to put us at the Number 5 (!) class in the country.
ESPN is a sham, so there is no way to tell. But seeing as we stayed solid in the 12 spot despite three four star additions in the last couple hours of signing day, while SEC teams moved up despite losing recruits, we probably would have dropped...
Either way, its too bad this happens now, as a top 5 recruiting finish is always welcome publicity, particularly for this year's class.
