ICYMI: Seven Bruin Football Players Make Athlon's All-Pac-12 Team

US PRESSWIRE

In case you missed this story that came out a few weeks ago, seven of our Bruin football players were named to Athlon's Pac-12 preseason team, with WR and PR Shaq Evans getting named twice, once on the second-team offense as a WR, and as a first-team special teams player as a punter returner. Joining Evans are offensive lineman Xavier Su'a-Filo (first team offense), QB Brett Hundley (second team offense), center Jake Brendel (third team offense), linebackers Anthony Barr (first team defense) and Eric Kendricks (second team defense), and defensive end Cassius Marsh (third team defense).

The Oregon Ducks led the selections with a total of 13, followed by Stanford's 10, and Southern Cal's 9. Hundley got edged by Oregon QB Marcus Mariota for first-team honors, with Arizona State's Taylor Kelly landing the third-team QB spot (which is a bit surprising given Stanford returns junior QB Kevin Hogan, who led the Cardinal to the conference title and a Rose Bowl win over Wisconsin).
