Shabazz Muhammad Expelled from NBA's Rookie Transition Program

USA TODAY Sports

Every year, the NBA holds a four-day seminar for their rookies, offering lectures and workshops designed to help the young players transition to life in the League.

Why am I not surprised that Shabazz "I Lied About My Age" Muhammad was sent home early from the program because he violated the rules and had a female guest in his room?

According to USA Today, just hours after hearing league officials go over the rules, Muhammad broke them and was caught with a girl in his room. He's going to be fined by the NBA and he's going to have to return to the seminar next season and complete the program with next year's crop of rookies.

I wish I could say I'm shocked, but I'm not. Shabazz seems to prefer doing what's good for Shabazz, not necessarily what he's supposed to be doing.

The non-lottery pick's NBA career is off to a great start so far.
