I moved from Orange County to San Francisco this summer, and immediately sought out a group of like minded fervent Bruin fans to watch football games with (and basketball soon). Much to my dismay such a group did not yet exist in the city. Furthermore, there is not a single watering hole in the city dedicated to the blue and gold, even though we have a giant contingency of alumni and fans in the Bay Area. There is a bar dedicated to LSU fans for God's sake.
Thus, the first San Francisco UCLA watch party group has been launched. The organizers of the group will be dedicated to ensuring that Bay Area Bruin fans always have a free place to watch the big games in the city. A fun location will be chosen for each game, wherein UCLA fans can gather, drink, eat and rejoice together. We will also be working with each location to put together drink and food specials unique to our group.
It is time to represent UCLA with pride in the Bay Area. We urge all attendees to wear something that is Bruin blue (old school baby blue, or new school "true" blue") and something that says "UCLA" on it. We will always announce the location of the watch party at least one week in advance of the upcoming game.
The inaugural watch party will be Saturday, Oct. 12, wherein UCLA will be hosting Cal at the Rose Bowl (time TBA). This is a huge game for Hundley and crew in terms of the upward trajectory of the program, which goes without saying, but is also huge for redemptive purposes, as Cal handed UCLA its ugliest loss last year, putting a sizable stain on Mora's impressive first season as head coach.
There is no requirement that you attended UCLA, the only thing we ask is that you bleed blue and gold. Here's to a big UCLA football season!

P.S. - We will also be organizing watch parties during basketball season as well. Hopefully Mr. Alford gives us something to get excited about.
