Once again the UCLA men's soccer team started with a lot of hype this season. The hype reached a fevered pitch last weekend when the guys beat no. 1 ranked Indiana (did you guys know Steve Alford went to Indiana?!) thanks to a "golden goal." And, then in true Lavinian fashion Jorge Salcedo's team followed up that big with what looks to be an ugly 0-3 loss against Cal Poly in our home opener last night:
The Bruins' only serious chance of the half came in the 27th minute, when senior Victor Munoz put a great shot on goal towards the far post from 15 yards out.
Cal Poly outshot the Bruins 14-9.
Are the Bruins doomed this season? It's way too early to know. But once again a Salcedo coached team is showing its Lavinian characteristics just 3 games into the season. This is not good.
