UCLA Women's Basketball Loses by 2 at Arizona State

Arizona State was ranked 23rd in the most recent poll. So for those interested in moral victories, this sounds like a great candidate.

UCLA was down by 6 at the half, 28-22, and fell 2 points short at the end 59-57.

UCLA struggled at the line, going 11-19. ASU was only 11-22, so if both teams had shot better, the final result may not have been different. But when your host does you a favor by shooting 50% from the line, you should not return the favor by shooting 58% yourself.

UCLA did not have much balance in scoring. Nirra Fields scored 20 and Atonye Nyingifa scored 19, accounting for almost 70% of the total team points by themselves.

Arizona State's bench was one big difference, outscoring the Bruin bench 20 to 4.

UCLA drops to 2-3 in conference play, 8-9 overall.
