CFB Sat: Florida St-Boston College, Oklahoma St-Baylor, Non-UCLA Games TV Times, Open Thread

Hopefully the road to Levi's will be a lot clearer after a beatdown by the Bruins tonight. There are some other good games today with teams still hoping to be in the hunt. - Kyle Terada-USA TODAY Sports

I can't wait until 5 pm. How to fill the time until then? I could go out for a long walk, but it is raining (a rare sight, but a welcome one). I could go to a movie, but I would be thinking about the game and would lose track of the plot. I could read a book, but I would be thinking about the game and would lose track of the plot. I could listen to music, but I would be thinking about the game and would lose track of the lyrics.

So I might as well watch some football. And here is a complete listing of the choices, courtesy of SB Nation-

First thing, you should cross off any game involving an SEC team. Now that this is taken care of, you still have about 1000 choices, or so it seems.

My recommendation would be to stick with the Big 10 and Pac-12. First up is #25 (College Football Playoff ranking) Minnesota at #23 Nebraska, at 9am Pacific on ESPN. These teams are only one game behind Wisconsin in the Big 10 West, and Minnesota plays at Wisconsin next weekend. So this is must win time.

Pac-12 play kicks off with Washington State at #13 Arizona State. Game time is 10 am Pacific on the Pac-12 Network. Arizona State is favored by 16 for a reason (more to do with WSU than with ASU, IMO).

Then we move to the biggest game in the Pac-12 this week not counting our game. #15 Arizona is at #17 Utah. I am personally rooting for Utah, one to give Arizona three losses and two to make our loss to Utah look more palatable down the road. Game time is 12:30 Pacific on ESPN.

And finally, there is "Big Game" on Fox Sports 1 at 1 pm, as Stanford travels to Berkeley. Thanks to Stanford's downward arc and Berkeley's upward arc, this game features two teams with identical records. The winner becomes bowl eligible and the loser is on the brink of elimination with only one more game to play next weekend. How the mighty have fallen.

This is your Saturday open thread for other college football action. Fire away with your comments and observations.
