Apathy: I'm Not the Only One Who Doesn't Care About Our Hoops Team

As I've glanced at the post-game roundups and seen (but not read) the game threads for our basketball team this year, it seemed to me that the number of comments in the game threads was lower than last year. So, I decided to see if I was right, and looked at the comments for all game threads for this season and last. Here's what I found. (Numbers from last year do not include conference or NCAA tournament games.) Sorry if the formatting is annoying - trying anything nice and pretty in a fanpost usually makes things worse, at least for me.

-----------------------------------------------------------------

this season's average comments/game so far: 359

last season's average comments/game: 608

-----------------------------------------------------------------

this season's average pre-conference comments/game: 359

last season's average pre-conference comments/game: 530

-----------------------------------------------------------------

this season's average pre-conference comments/game minus Duke and Mizzou: 305

last season's average pre-conference comments/game minus Mizzou, Georgetown, and the OPUG opener against Indiana State: 479

-----------------------------------------------------------------

this season's average conference comments/game: 359

last season's average conference comments/game: 664

-----------------------------------------------------------------

over 900 this year: none

over 900 last year: $c 999, WSU 983 (near end of season)

-----------------------------------------------------------------

over 800 this year: Mizzou 890

over 800 last year: 4

-----------------------------------------------------------------

over 700 this year: still just one

over 700 last year: 10

-----------------------------------------------------------------

over 600 last year: still just one

over 600 last year: 15

-----------------------------------------------------------------

over 500 this year: a whopping 4

over 500 last year: 19

-----------------------------------------------------------------

under 300 last year: zero

under 300 this year: 11

-----------------------------------------------------------------

under 200 last year: still zero

under 200 this year: 4

-----------------------------------------------------------------

last year's three high games: 999, 983, 862

this year's three high games: 890, 555, 547

-----------------------------------------------------------------

last year's three low games: 330, 318, 305

this year's three low games: 169, 140 (in conference!), 78

-----------------------------------------------------------------

Apparently I'm not the only one who has lost all interest as long as Alford is in charge...I've spent way more time today on UCLA basketball than I have all season long.
