For those wanting to follow Olympic Sports (as in UCLA, not Sochi)- Saturday update

None of this is on the UCLA website, as of 4:45 pm.

First, and most important, UCLA women's tennis team blitzed $C 4-0 in the quarterfinals of the ITA National Women's Team Championship in Charlottesville, VA.

UCLA won the #1 (Robin Anderson/Jennifer Brady) and #2 (Kyle McPhillips/Catherine Harrison) doubles to take the doubles point.

Anderson won in straight sets at #1 singles. McPhillips won in straight sets at #4 singles. And Kaitlin Ray won in straight sets at #6 singles.

Catherine Harrison was ahead 7-5,4-2 at #5 singles, when the match was abandoned. #2 singles and #3 singles were abandoned with split sets.

UCLA plays Northwestern in the semifinals tomorrow. Northwestern upset Florida, ranked #2 in the country in the most recent poll.

And, from about as far as you could get from Charlottesville, the women's softball team won its 4th straight game in the Hawaii tournament. The Bruins beat Delaware 7-0. They had beaten Delaware in the season opener on Thursday 10-0 in a mercy rule 5 inning game. In today's game, Jessica Hall threw a one-hitter, with 9 K's and 1 walk, for her second win of the season. Stephany LaRosa and Mysha Sataraka (returning to her home town of Honolulu) each hit a home run.

Next up for the Bruins is a rematch against Hawaii at 6pm this evening.

Thanks to 281, we also know that the gymnastics team beat Arizona St, with a season high total of 196.925 points.

Next up for any of these sports is official word from Morgan Center that the Bruins won. As of 4:45, here is the official status for each team-

Women's Tennis vs. $C 12 pm

Gymnastics vs. Arizona State 12:30pm

Softball vs. Delaware 2pm

FYI- Should we post the scores when we get them?
