Way Too Early Information on Tickets vs. Virginia

Bob Donnan-USA TODAY Sports

Bumped. This was posted few days ago but there is good feedback in comment thread folks should take note of. GO BRUINS. - BN Eds.

Seeing as nobody is talking about UCLA football right now, I thought that I'd post some early information on the ticket situation for our opening game on August 30th against the University of Virginia.

While this game is a road game on paper, UVA's recent stretch of dismal performances, UCLA's anticipated success this year, and the strong Bruin population in the area could make this feel more like a home game. If you are considering coming out for the game, I would encourage you to go. Charlottesville is a beautiful college town, it's within a couple of hours, and, well, we only get to see Brett Hundley in the blue and gold for so long.

I've done some inquiring on the ticket situation. As of today, the UCLA CTO does not list the ticket prices for this away game. My call to the ticket office a few weeks ago didn't answer that question either. The man I spoke with said that when UVA gave UCLA the ticket prices, UCLA would list them. However, he did not know when that would be.

I decided to hunt on UVA's website and have studied the layout of their stadium. While I would enjoy sitting with any of you Bruin faithful in the visitor section, looking at the visitor section at Scott Stadium leaves much to be desired. Every single visitor section is up in the nosebleeds, most of them around one of the endzones....the worst seats in the house. It reminds me of where USC likes to sit a lot of us at the mausoleum. With UVA offering tickets in much closer seating between $35 and $50, I am leaning toward planting my Bruin party right in the middle of one of their better home sections.

Tickets go on sale on May 2nd through the UVA website. If anyone from Bruins Nation is interested in coordinating our seat sections with my group (I've got about 15 folks), let me know in the comment section and we'll fill one of their home fan sections.

Less than five months until kickoff!
