UCLA Athletics Touts Social Media Day; Forgets All About "Silent Steve"

Jayne Kamin-Oncea-USA TODAY Spor

Apparently, today is "Social Media Day". (Really? Who comes up with these?)

So, UCLA Athletics decided to post the following to Facebook:

Post by UCLA Athletics.

The link on the post takes you to the Social Media page on UCLABruins.com. I find it rather interesting that, in the section "UCLA on Twitter", they list Women's Basketball Coach Cori Close, Football Coach Jim Mora, Men's Golf Coach Derek Freeman, Gymnastics Coach Valerie Kondos-Field, and Men's Volleyball Coach John Speraw.

But, guess whose account is not listed. If you guessed Men's Basketball Coach "Silent Steve" Alford, you are correct.

Hmmm.....

It's rather interesting that he is not on the list. I guess when you're a nepotistic introvert who only cares about himself Twitter probably isn't going to be your "thing".

Or, of course, it could just be another case of the folks who are responsible for maintaining UCLABruins.com not having the most up-to-date info on the website.
