Severe flooding after an apparent water main rupture in Westwood near UCLA has stranded vehicles and caused road closures, officials said.
Sunset Boulevard was closed in both directions from Marymount Place to Westwood Plaza, according to the Los Angeles Fire Department.
Also, per the local CBS affiliate:
Police officials are considering issuing a possible evacuation order after a water-main break has resulted in overwhelming flooding near UCLA.
The call came in at 3:24 p.m. that the break was shooting water into the air and flooding the streets.
Sunset Blvd has been closed in both directions, from Marymount Pl. to Westwood Plaza.
The break occurred directly next to Marymount High School, prompting the tremendous flooding to penetrate into UCLA’s campus.
