The fourth-ranked Bruins open the 2014 season this afternoon against the 11th-ranked Wake Forest Demon Deacons. UCLA returns seven starters including All-American Leo Stolz, and Coach Salcedo adds the nation's top-rated recruiting class to an already strong squad. Hugely talented teams are nothing new for Coach Salcedo; however, a national championship still eludes him, and his teams have a history of under-performing. This is the year Coach Salcedo needs to change that.

The 36th-ranked UCLA women's volleyball team open the 2014 season this afternoon against the unranked Binghamton Bearcats. This is UCLA's first game (of three) in the Loyola Marymount at the Concourse Hotel at LAX Classic. Tomorrow UCLA will face LIU Brooklyn and host LMU.
This appears to be a second transition year for the Bruins after slumping to 10th-place finish in the Pac-12 last year. In the preseason Pac-12 poll, the Bruins came in 8th, behind Colorado and ahead of Arizona. The lone Bruin to be named Preseason All-Pac-12 is senior Karsta Lowe.
I'll post a thorough season preview of the women's volleyball team tomorrow, and it will outline minimum (reasonable) expectations for Coach Sealy and the team.

Go BRUINS!
