Just 48 hours before signing day, Louisville and slimeball Bobby Petrino pulled incoming recruit 3* RB Matt Colburn's offer, citing a need to add more DB's to the class. Granted, Louisville currently has commitments from four other 3* running backs, but none had been committed for longer than Colburn, who had committed to the Cardinals nearly 8 months ago.
We all know that sometimes the numbers don't fit and schools have to make tough decisions. However, there's no viable reason to leave a recruit in the dark until the eve of signing day. That's just a slimeball move, but not unexpected from Bobby Petrino.
Colburn looks like a solid prospect. He's not a big guy, listed at 5'8 185 lbs., but he reportedly runs a 4.3 40. During his high school career in South Carolina, he rushed for over 5,600 yards and 91 touchdowns. However, Colburn told reporters that he shut down his recruitment early after committing to Louisville and now he's left scrambling to find a landing spot.
Good luck Matt. You deserved better.
