Former Bruin Noah Allen Is Hitting His Stride in Hawai'i

Marco Garcia-USA TODAY Sports

Jonah Bolden isn't the only Bruin to leave Steve Alford's program after the disastrous 2015-16 season. Noah Allen left too, although Allen met his commitment to UCLA, graduating with a degree in political science after three years in Westwood.

Allen is now playing basketball for the Rainbow Warriors while pursuing a graduate degree in conflict resolution. After a fast start to the season that saw him lead Hawai'i in scoring, rebounding and assists, Allen struggled in a handful of games during the holiday season before getting back in the groove this month.

Two weeks ago against Long Beach State, Allen exploded for 24 points, a new career high. Four days later, Noah topped that mark when he poured in 30 points against Cal State Northridge. In the following game, Allen slumped to 26 points, but on Saturday, he topped his career high again when he chalked up 34 points against UCSB.

During that same stretch, Noah averaged nearly 7.5 boards/game.

It's fantastic to see Noah Allen thriving on the basketball court with a coach who is getting the best out of him. In my previous post about Allen's early season success in leading the Rainbow Warriors, I wrote

Best of luck in Hawai'i, Noah. Make the most of your opportunity.

It looks like Noah is indeed making the most of his opportunity in Hawai'i.

Go BRUINS!
