2009 UCLA Baseball Schedule

+

The Bruins released their entire 2009 schedule today and it looks exactly how we expected it to look. After having their schedule ranked #1 in 2006, #3 in 2007 and #2 in 2008, it's no surprise another brutal schedule (and arguably their toughest ever) is on tap for '09.

All UCLA non conference opponents ranked in USA Today Coach's Poll: Tenn (18), BYU (17), FSU (25)

1

The first ESPN/USA Today Coach's Poll is out. All of UCLA's non conference opponents are ranked. BYU (17) is ranked higher than Tennessee (18). Fresno State is number 25. This ranking doesn't help those Dorrellistas and Neu haters who will try to paint UCLA losses to these teams as being "embarrassing." Georgia is number 1. SuC is number 2. ASU (16) and Oregon (20) are the two other Pac-10 teams. Bruins received 3 votes (number 46).

UCLA - STATUS QUO Ben Howland has already completed one of the all-time great turnarounds.. turning an 11-win program into a three-time Final Four participant in less than a blink of the eye. Now, there's really nowhere to go but down. But considering the monster class heading to Westwood and the return of Darren Collison, another Final Four trip is certainly within reason. When Final Fours become the "status quo", you know you're doing a great job. Bruins maintain their status in Pac-10 Hoops

A Matter Of Perspective (Over Uninformed Perception)

So there has been some discussion in reaction to Ted Miller’s observations on WWL that if the Bruins lose to Fresno State and to BYU this season, “most folks will view a UCLA loss to either as an...
