Chow On UCLA Campus (w his attorney?)
From a poster on Dohn's blog (yeah I know terrible source) who claims to work on campus:
I work on campus and I was told by a member of the Athletic department that Norm Chow is on Campus this morning. And then there is this from Bruinzone:
Chow is on campus right now, and he has an attorney with himPosted by Bruinbalssy on December 11, 2007 at 11:49:32
I don't know if Chow is going to be abe to get personal and chummy with his attorney being present. I think this may be bad move. Do other interviewees bring their attorneys. Does the attorney screen questions? Overkill. I expected better than that from Chow. It's certainly not his first interview.
Assuming he is on campus is true, why would he bring an attorney with him? For his second interview?I know I am speculating here. But there are just too many indicators pointing to Chow. I feel like throwing up.
This is a FanPost and does not necessarily reflect the views of BruinsNation's (BN) editors. It does reflect the views of this particular fan though, which is as important as the views of BN's editors.

A lawyer
I can't really think of any other reason. I second the desire to vomit.

In other words
Eccentric Personality as a Bar?
Mary Holmes -- the very greatest, was captivating and brilliant. Yet, eccentric.
If my alma mater starts to bar eccentric personalities, it is not the school it was, or the school I want it to be.
This is, indeed, sickening, if true.
And, DG, if this is really happening, you have to fight for your choice -- get the word out. You'll be surprised at the support you get.
Last time, when it appears KD was selected over your objections, it was not held against you. But, if you take a second choice, again, without fighting for your first choice, it's on you. I think you need us, and our money as much as you need the approval of people like Morrison. Do you think he'd ask you who to hire for his department? Even respect your input? This is your signature hire. Protect yourself, if need be. Go public if this stuff is really happening.

DG and the decision process
Bill
Why are you letting DG off the hook?
I'll wait this out. It may all be bad rumors. But, if it proves to be true, DG is toast in my eyes -- and I won't give a penny when he comes calling.
So far, we have had ioonly Chow on campus
This cannot possibly be true. DG would be committing professional suicide conducting a one interview search. Even if every former coach said no, they have got to do more than one interview and signing press conference.
As sjh said, DG. You got a pass with the previous moron you hired. You won't get a pass this time.
Relax
Relax!
Just because his attorney is there does not mean that he cannot get chummy with DG, nor does it mean that they are negotiating a contract.
No
Here is what I don't get (if this is true)
I pray with all my heart this isn't true, but I have to admit I'm feeling incredibly low right now
ANS = (upside down, page bottom) "NO".
It's snooty, Beverly Hills bullshit that brought us our nearly homogeneous student body, a library macing and the end of the midnight scream -- but anyway.
Picture an honest, well meaning and extremely competent Director of Operations trying against all hope to bend the iron beams of arrogance and complacency inside a gleaming, century-old tower of power.
Dan Guerrero is up to his ears in resistance, with only a small, vocal few on his side... and we're on the outside.

Let's assume Chow is on campus
As to the assumption, this report sounds a bit like" my brother's friend's cousin's girlfriend's uncle saw Ferris pass out at the 31 Flavors last night." I find it hard to believe that Chow would be interviewed on campus because (1) Guerrero is conducting a closed-door interview process, which would be undermined by parading the candidates across campus and (2) given the travel restrictions of an NFL offensive coordinator, there is almost no way that Chow would have gotten in a car and driven (or been driven) through LA traffic to UCLA and back to the airport. No, a screening interview of Chow would take place at an airport hotel to save 2 or 3 hours of travel for a busy man.
other day...
Still worrisome
Yes, she got quite the chuckle out of it.
Sources continue to tell me Chow is being looked at by UCLA, but no interview has been scheduled at this point.
This is looking more and more like a trial balloon by the Walker/Chow crowd, but it still makes me nervous.
