Touchdown UCLA

Just think this through.

Vince Young destroys TrOJie dreams at the Rose Bowl.

Then he paves the way for probably one of the greatest OC's ever to coach the college game to come back to Westwood by essentially wanting him out of the picture at the Music City. Well, that's according to some speculation out of TN.

Anyway, so who has to pull the trigger to make this once "pipe dream" possible? That would be Trojan alum Jeff Fisher, the head coach of Tennessee.

That's a T-O-U-C-H-D-O-W-N:

Against the team in red.

Thanks again VY.

GO BRUINS.

Fisher, Young, thanks guys!
Are the Trojies REALLY that worried?  I do think they are concerned at this point.  Of course if we start winning they'll say two things:
  1. You couldn't win until you hired a former SC assistant.
  2. You couldn't win until you hired an SC law graduate.
To those I say "Shut the F@#K up you Trojie SHIT!"

I'm so sick of they're smack talk, license plate frames, flags and any other stupid trinkets that they love to show off.  i can't wait until we smack the crap out of those a-holes.  Go Bruins!

Six degress of Vince Young
His new OC, Mike Heimerdinger, vacates a Denver post being sought after by Karl Dorrell, who could save UCLA hundreds of thousands of dollars by returning to the Broncos.

Thanks!

Norm Chow Interview
Norm Chow just did a radio interview with Steve Hartman on AM 570 about 15 minutes ago.  It was a great listen and I believe they put up the audio archives on the 570 website so check it out.  It's a great interview and he seems psyched to be at UCLA.

Thanks
Just finished listening to it. Gotta love norm's hawaiian accent. Reminds me of an interview he did a few years back and they asked the why haven't you been a HC question and he responded, maybe they didn't like my pidgeon english....

Norm Chow graduated from my HS
although about 40 years before me. Either way I'm stoked that he agreed to be our OC.

Yep, but he seemed surprised..
He seemed surprised when Vic the Brick told him that UCLA's offense was something like 105 out of 118 Div 1 schools last year.  Hopefully he isn't scared off by a big challenge ;-)

Somebody pinch me
Heard the conference call and Hartman.  Norm specifically mentioned CRN and how "convincing" he is.  CRN also got DW involved as they have known each other for a long time too.  I can just picture CRN sitting in CNC's home on Friday & Saturday selling the vision.  CRN truly has a way of selling as well as communicating.

We got some work to do in order to get back to national relevance but I haven't been this excited about UCLA Football since the McNown years.

Salary freed up
Just read that KD signed on with Herm Edwards to be the new WR's coach of the Kansas City Chiefs. Good luck KD!

We're on a ROLL!
KD caused me a lot of heartache/frustration but his heart was in the right place.  Maybe with more experience, things may have turned out different.  Either way, I wish him the best in his future endeavors.

Good for KD.
KD gets to work in the AFC in a job he knows well and had success in during his Bronco days.  Glad to see he landed on his feet.

Just because he didn't do that well here, it doesn't mean we don't want him to do well at all.  Best of luck to KD and his family.

Good Move for KD
There was a lot of talk about KD coming here to be the Broncos' OC.  The Broncos were among the NFL's worst in red zone offense, frequently settling for FG's instead of TD's, and Shanahan is the master of the 4 yard pass on 3rd and 8.  Sound familiar?  Maybe that's how KD learned his stuff in the first place (he was WR coach here before going to Westwood).  But it will be good for KD to get away from Shanny's system, esp as it didn't work for him in Westwood either.  Best wishes with the Chefs.

Chief Coaches
KD's credentials look better than most of the Cheifs assistant coaches.  KD will have one of the best young wideouts in the league Dwayne Bowe who just finished his rookie year out of LSU.

Brilliant post, Nestor!
Pre-season ranking just shot up (IMHO).  Although I don't mind looking at what the trojies have to say, at this point I could care less.  I can't wait to see how the east coast MSM carries this tomorrow - the possibilities extend WAY beyond thumping u$c.

A simple but important question
As we all know, SC could be in a bit of trouble with the Bush thing.

What years, if any, does Chow or Walker's service at SC overlap with the Bush years in question?  Can either shed any light on those proceeding without getting themselves in trouble?

If they can shed light and legally, that would be, I would think, an SC fans greatest fear.

by Free the 16 on Jan 21, 2008 9:08 PM PST reply actions   0 recs

IIRC
Walker doesn't overlap at all - he was only at USC Carroll's first year.

Chow was there for Bush's first two years.

Hilarious
that there is one SuC cheerleader with her hands in the air cheering for the touchdown.  LMAO

back to topic - Chow is a great hire and I am excited to what the upcoming yrs are going to bring and I will echo what a lot on here have said - although RN wasn't my 1st choice he was definitely the Best choice.  Way to go DG...

OJ Mayo at Laker vs Nuggest Game?
Not sure if anyone here watched the Laker game tonight...but how did OJ Mayo get floor level tickets to the Laker game.  TNT showed him close up with a NY Yankee hat on.  NCAA should investigate that as well!  There weren't any USC players in the game that could have left him a ticket.

I remember a minor sh!tstorm
raised by some jealous trOJans the spring after our first Final Four run, where they spotted Farmar in a similar situation before he had declared for the draft. None of that mattered in the end since he would declare a few days (or a week or so) later. I wonder if those same vigilant watchdogs (LOL) will be raising their concerns about this?
