Coach Wooden Feelin' It
Bumped. Goodness, gracious. Monday is not even over but the bloggers here are already on FIRE! GO BRUINS. -N
Now, normally when I visit the WWL website, I do it so that I can check up on scores and of course, read the ridiculous opinions that so many of the "experts" spew out. It's entertaining! It's what makes being a fan so great! The debates, the predictions and ultimately--the resolution. Do I take it the opinions seriously? Well, no, not really. Heck, some of em saw UCLA goin down to WKU.
This opinion, however, is one I think we all value.
"[Two] years ago, we were in the Final Four and we finished second. Last year, we were third. Seems logical to be first this year, don't you think?" [Coach Wooden] told The Associated Press by phone Monday.....
North Carolina and Kansas play the other semifinal, marking the first time all four No. 1 seeds have reached the Final Four.
"That is remarkable," Wooden said. "Any one of the four could win, but I wouldn't trade UCLA's chances for any of the other teams."
See the rest of the article for some great quotes from both CBH and legendary Coach Wooden. As we know so well, in the end, we play the game. But coming from a man that's taken 10 teams all the way, and coached the greatest college (and later NBA) player of all-time, I'd say this opinion is one worth noting.
This week is going by so slowly! How is it still Monday!?
This is a FanPost and does not necessarily reflect the views of BruinsNation's (BN) editors. It does reflect the views of this particular fan though, which is as important as the views of BN's editors.

And BTW
"That's what it is and always will be," Howland said Monday.

Will Ben see more Benjamin's This Summer?
What if some Hoosier want to offer CBH some INSANE amount of money? Not that CBH would go, but, hey... in this day & age, we better not take anything for granted, and PAY THE MAN whatever he wants/needs to keep him happy!
Just a thought.

Kentucky already tried that
But CBH definitely should get a raise sooner than later.

I agree Completely
I don't care what other coahces make.
I don't care what others shcools will give him.
I don't care to use money as a symbolic sign of appreciation.
CBH is the best college coach for UCLA, a perfect fit, and should be paid in a way that reflects that.
In the academic world, there is a practice of measuring what you pay a professor by what another school will pay him. Want a raise? Go get an offer from another school and we will match it.
That is one of the most repulsive practices in the academy. it rewards the dishonest (they have no intention of leaving), wastes resources, and punishes the truly loyal.
CBH should not be held back because he is loyal, doesn't throw his name out there to scare us, tells everyone this is his perfect job, and wants to stay.
We should step up and pay him for what he is -- the best coach (in any sport) in the World, the most loyal of Bruins, and a true treasure.
I'm sure the AD will step up. And, if he asks for outside help, I'll send money.

Well regardless
Howland has to worry about recruiting, academics, and all of the NCAA rules and regulations on top of coaching and teaching. Not to mention the fact that he coaches kids.
But...Torre does have a perfect record as skipper of the Dodgers, hard to argue with those numbers : )
