Kahlil Bell Elevated From Bears Practice Squad
The Bears promoted running back Kahlil Bell from the practice squad today after placing Garrett Wolfe (lacerated kidney) on injured reserve.
Bell, an undrafted rookie free agent from UCLA, could see time on special teams and will move into the role of third running back behind starter Matt Forte and backup Adrian Peterson.
.....
"I'm just happy to be here," Bell said. "It's been a dream since I've been a little kid to be at this level. If I get the opportunity to contribute, I'll be living the dream."
Bears coach Lovie Smith offered high praise for Bell.
"Kahlil has been around here for a while," Smith said. "Whenever you're on the practice squad, you go against the No. 1 defense. Good football player. We brought him here for a reason.
"Whenever you keep a young running back on your practice squad, he can do some things.Good runner. Good size. He can catch the ball. He can do all the things you want a running back to do."

LDS Missions: Can CRN Compete with God?
"Can CRN compete with god?" Priorities are definately in the mix here; Faith or Football?
A Very Happy BN Birthday!
Kyle and Korey Bosworth are celebrating their 23rd birthdays on Saturday, which is also Senior day at the Rose Bowl! Some extra motivation huh?
Video of ASU practice and "reaction" from Dennis Erickson and receiver Kyle Williams re. who will start at QB for the Sun Devils (they are leaning towards Samson Szakacsy).

SPTR's going international?
Off topic, I realize, but thought I would share a piece of ref'ing that would shame even the Pac-10.

Pat Forde takes a shot at Petey (emphasis added)
So, bloodthirsty Stanford (2) went for two against the shattered Trojans with less than seven minutes remaining and the score 48-21. Seems Jim Harbaugh wanted to hang half a hundred on Pete Carroll, the coach he's now embarrassed twice in three meetings. The two-point try failed, but Stanford scored again at the 2:19 mark to make it 55-21.
The Dash doesn't expressly condone running it up like that. But The Dash understands, having seen Carroll routinely engage in excessive scoreboard tilting when USC was capable of crushing its opposition.
Now that the Trojans are not, it's hard to feel sorry for them.

Still having trouble commenting on the game last night. So my 1,000 words will have to be told by Malcolm Lee.
A few more pics from the game on my flickr page if anyone's interested.

About Punting = Winning
Really interesting article in the Wall Street Journal in light of Bill Belichick's "interesting" decision this past football weekend. Apparently his decision was well supported by the number crunchers.
I am usually in the corner of those who are always pleading the coaches to go for it. However, I have to say even with the numbers on his side, I just couldn't come up with anything to justify it. Then again, if I am Patriots fan, I would give Belichick the same kind of deference I give Coach Ben Howland.
Interesting read.
