Former UCLA Linebacker Ramogi Huma on Colbert Report

It's great to see Bruins showing their talents on and off the field. This time Ramogi Huma discusses the reasons behind the movement toward unionization of football players. Regardless of where you stand on the issue, it's a good example of how UCLA produces true student athletes.

Two Number One teams

"UCLA Athletics: Say hello to our two Number 1-ranked Bruin teams: UCLA Women's Water Polo and UCLA Softball!"

Honeycutt, and his dirty agent dealings.

Oy! Shabazz and now Honeycutt. Another 0 for the season?

Jim Morrison, UCLA '65

"A favorite pilgrimage sight on campus: Jim Morrison, lead singer of The Doors graduated UCLA in 1965. After his death in 1971 students commemorated his life by decorating his locker on campus."

Thomas Welsh ( and Kevon Looney) At McDonald's All-America Game

The West team had a practice scrimmage and thomas Welsh held his own against the #1 2014 Center going to Duke, Jhalil Okafor. I'll keep you posted.

LSU Schedules Home-and-Home Series, Will Visit Rose Bowl in 2021

The LSU Tigers will be visiting the Rose Bowl in 2021 with the Bruins returning the favor in 2024. No word on whether Creepy Cam Cameron will insist on sitting next to recruits on the plane ride from Baton Rouge to LA this time.

UCLA Football Adds LSU to Schedule

UCLA football continues to schedule marquee non-conference games, with this future matchup (a home-and-home series with the SEC powerhouse LSU Tigers) for the 2021 and 2024 series. These are so far in the future anything could happen, but it is hard not to get excited about the possibility of a road trip to Baton Rouge for a UCLA before I turn 30 (or however old you all may be).

Classic Vin Scully

Some people are "unflappable," but only because they’re out of it. Vinny, on the other hand, is the dictionary definition of unflappable. He mentions a 5.3 "tremor" in stride, and never wavers from calling the game. He weaves anecdotes about the '89 SF quake into his commentary, but never loses control of the game. Vinny is the Captain Sully of baseball broadcasting. What a gem he is.

The UConn Program

I post this because it may help explain why Daniel Hamilton would go there. The Coach, Kevin Ollie, I believe is a Crenshaw raduate, so he has LA connections. This article ends by saying the future is cloudy, but doesn't say why. I assume because of the conference situation--its a shitty conference. They want to be in the ACC. Look out, if that happens.
