Pasadena, CA (Sports Network) - Tom Brandstater completed 21-of-30 passes for 236 yards with three touchdowns and one interception, as the 25th-ranked Fresno State Bulldogs held to defeat the UCLA Bruins, 36-31, and earn their first-ever win at the Rose Bowl.
Ryan Mathews rushed for 166 yards and one score on 21 carries for the Bulldogs (3-1), and Chastin West caught five passes for 69 yards, including a 28-yard touchdown late in the third quarter that proved to be the difference.
Kevin Craft connected 11-of-20 passes for 150 yards and one touchdown for the Bruins (1-3), who have dropped three straight following a stunning 27-24 overtime victory against then-ranked Tennessee. Kahlil Bell gained 73 yards on the ground and scored two touchdowns.
