Around SBN: Jon Jones, Rashad Evans Reignite Rivalry

Blasphemy!!!

How dare ESPN compare coach Kryzxyzabcfucknut's "accomplishments" to the untouchable accomplishments of Coach Wooden.

John Wooden's seven straight NCAA titles (10 total) at UCLA might be the hardest college basketball record to break.

Don't be surprised, though, if Mike Krzyzewski's nine straight Sweet 16 appearances at Duke ends up being just as difficult to approach.

Duke's regular run to Sweet 16 elite actually works in concert with the fact that, for the fourth straight season, there won't be a repeat Final Four team. Regardless of where you are seeded, getting to the Sweet 16 still is a tall task. Winning two more games to get to the Final Four on any type of regular basis in an age when players regularly bolt early for the pros is becoming tough even for elite programs.

If making it to the sweet 16 every year was something worth commemorating, we would have a different coach right now.  However, if you attend a school with a basketball program that prides itself on national championships instead of being runner up, then you eliminate the coach that is not able to provide national championship contention every year.
Not only does Andy Katz make a fool of himself by writing this article, but Syracuse coach, Jim Boeheim, makes an even bigger ass out of himself:

What Mike has done is certainly in the same category as what John Wooden did," Syracuse coach Jim Boeheim said. "It's an awfully, awfully impressive thing in today's world."

But what do you expect from a coach who got lucky to make the dance in the first place and was then immediately shown the exit.

Shit, why do I still go to espn.com and read this trash.

Assclowns at ESPN
What idiots, a championchip is a championchip, Andy Katz should be asshamed for even thinking such a thing.  Not only does it not rival Wooden, it is not in the same leagues.  Maybe to Suc or people that havent won anything but not to the sons of westwood.    Fucking Assclowns go back to Bristol, jackasses.

What a joke!
Remember, when Coach Wooden was coaching, there were only 16 teams in the tournament!!  In other words, if you were in the tournamant, you were in the Sweet 16.  So the Bruins were Sweet 16 at least 12 times in a row, winning ten.  Oh yeah, Coach K, you really compare.  Not!!

Sad, really sad
How hard has it really been for Duke not to make the Sweet Sixteen for the last nine years given the opposition they've had to play in the first two rounds every year? And to compare that on the same level as UCLA's ten national championships is an absolute disgrace. This is a topic that shouldn't even be brought up, much less discussed. Let's just ignore the topic. The comparison is night and day.

ESPN ...
Like I said before ESPN to Duke/East Coast sports establishment is basically what is "Fox News" is to the right wing nut bags (note I said "right wing nut bags", not Republicans).

Also keep in mind ...
Katz is one of Steve Lavin's best friends in traditional media. Lavin basically used Katz as a tool to get his message out constantly berating UCLA fans for having unreasonable expectations for not being happy with his Steve-16s. Katz also tried to pimp Pat Douglass as the leading candidate for the UCLA job when Lavin was finally canned in 2003.

Katz is an asshole and a closet UCLA hater. Fuck him.

Damn! We Lost In The Final Four Again!
It's one thing to go to 12 final fours but it's another to win there. Duke's record is clearly below .500 otherwise a more practical comparison to UCLA could be made. I also like the conclusion that Wooden's championship run can't be repeated. It can. Just not by Krzyzewski. He's not good enough. Nor is Duke capable.

Andy Katz? We should all fill up his inbox today.

At the very least
the closest comparison to winning 7 consecutive championships would be getting to 7 consecutive Final 4s (and I'm not saying they are equivalent).  In both cases, you have to win 4 games in the tournament.  I don't understand how winning 2 games in today's tournament is like winning 4 games in the past, especially when the talent level of the first round (as compared to the rest of the schools in the country) in the 1960s compares closer to the talent level of the Sweet 16 (as compared to the rest of the schools in the country) now.

The fact is
that Coach Wooden's accomplishments so dwarf all other schools, that professional jealousy has set in.  If John Wooden is the standard to which greatness is measured then all others fall short.  Coaching egos cannot handle this.  Katz minimalizing Coach Wooden's record only makes him seem small and insignificant in the eyes of true fans.  Why not match Coach Wooden's tournament winning % to Coach K's, end of story.  And don't even get me started with the village idiot, Boeheim, who caught lightning in a bottle one year, and used it to mask an otherwise terrible tourney record.
