Howland staying power
Seeing Howland's record of building tough teams and then leaving, what do you think the chances of him staying longer than 4 years at UCLA are?

P.S.  UCLA better start acting like the great team they are if they want to come back from the current 31 to 16 deficit.

Under the basket
Has there been an inbounds play yet that hasn't led to point for Gonzaga?

This is embarassing.

We need to wake up
And soon, this is a joke. Screw the offense, where the hell is our D??? What the hell is going on?

by bruinmike88 on Mar 23, 2006 8:03 PM PST reply actions   0 recs

And FYI...
Can we get a petition started to never have Gus Johnson call a UCLA game for the rest of eternity? This year vs West Virginia, last year vs TT, 2002 Sweet 16 vs Mizzou. Have we ever won a game of ours that he's done?

He's like our anti-Wooden.

Doesn't look good
Let's hope for a strong second half filled with less bricks and more defense.  We've come from behind before, but for some reason the players look a little more frazzled this time.  I'm out here in Connecticut on business where they have the game blacked out.  I'm only catching the little snippets that are fed to me by CBS.

I'd like nothing better...
...than to smack the hell out of that woman who's screaming on every posession.

by scittles on Mar 23, 2006 8:16 PM PST reply actions   0 recs

JJ Redick
If I had a vote, he'd be my player of the year.  Adam Morrison is a piece of shit.  I'm already slow and white.  If I were 6'8" and allowed to foul on every single offensive posession without getting called, I'm pretty sure I could get 30 a game, too.

great comeback, let's hope the team finishes
the announcers have noted, repeatedly that the officials are screwing us.  Go Bruins.

Never in doubt, right?
Elite 8 baby.

As bad as it looked, our D kept us in this game to give us a chance at the end. We were never out of it.

Remember, D wins Championships.

Someone post screencaps please
I just rewatched the finish like 15 times and the faces on Ced, DC and of course Ammo are frickin priceless.

Um
  1. Holy shit.
  2. Holy shit.
  3. Morrison is unbelievable.  I can't remember the last time I saw a scorer that good in the college game.
  4. Howland and Bruins, you kick ass.
  5. I'm glad they never gave up.
  6. We played like shit for about 30 minutes, and still won.  Wow.
  7. I know it is sacrilege, but this is a VERY close second to Tyus Edney for me.
  8. Holy shit.
GO BRUINS. HOOK 'EM HORNS.

Oh yeah
And it didn't hurt that Texas won at the buzzer.

Holy shit.

One of the best games I've ever seen. Period. Congratulations. I hope our team has that kind of heart next year.

Connecticut is quiet, but my hotel room is rockin!
No matter how many times I watch the replays on ESPN, I still can't believe what transpired.

For 5214
We are the Sons of Westwood
And we hail the blue and the gold
True to the our hearts will be
Our love will not grow old
Fight, fight, fight
Bruins roam the hills of Westwood
By the blue Pacific shore
And when they see
A man from USC
Every Bruin starts to roar

U-C-L-A
U-C-L-A
Fight fight fight

I was at Farmer's Market, and I was in shock.  I couldn't hear what the annnouncers were saying because it was so loud.  My fiance is bringing the tape of the last two minutes with him tomorrow.  God bless Tivo.

Farmer's Market?
They show the games at the Farmer's Market?

by Ajax on Mar 23, 2006 10:41 PM PST up reply actions   0 recs

TV at Farmers Market
Yep, there were two places that were showing the game.  I was there because one of my best friends from high school was in town (she lives in Brooklyn).  I have yet to watch an uninterupted game this tournament (which maybe a good thing if you're superstituous like me).  I was at work during Belmont (followed the first half online, then watched when more people left), had to meet with my house corporation board members last Saturday against Alabama (though I left right as the game was starting), and tomorrow I have a wedding to go to for my big sis from my sorority (it's at 5:30, so I will see some of the game and I am planning on taking a radio in, despite my fiance's objections)

Felt sorry for the crying Morrison; Not anymore
"Morrison beat UCLA's defensive stopper, Afflalo, with a one-hand runner in the lane on the first possession and talked trash as well, yelling "Let's go Afflalo!" late in the half as if he was looking for a bigger challenge. That challenge came down the stretch."

by hitch89 on Mar 23, 2006 10:41 PM PST reply actions   0 recs

Amen
I just saw that on DSPN, and was astonished.  What a joke that guy is!  I have moer respect for Morrison than I do for bautista after tonight.
