Pete Carroll's wife beater

And you wonder why ManPundit whines about us calling his Trojans thugs. This story of a Trojan wife beating just hit the wire:

The Los Angeles City attorney's office has filed charges against former USC defensive end Frostee Rucker for two counts of spousal battery and two counts of vandalism, ESPN's Justine Gubar reports.

Both charges are misdemeanors. Each count of spousal battery, which includes parties who have dated, is punishable by one year maximum in county jail or community service. There is a mandatory $400 fine. Vandalism is punishable by up to six months in jail. If convicted Rucker, who was drafted by the Bengals in the third round of April's NFL draft, could face up to three years in county jail.

The charges stem from one incident in early August 2005 that took place at Rucker's Los Angeles apartment.

An arraignment date has been set for July 13.

No wonder people are starting to call Pom Pom's program Miami of the West.

This is a FanPost and does not necessarily reflect the views of BruinsNation's (BN) editors. It does reflect the views of this particular fan though, which is as important as the views of BN's editors.

Carroll Named Top Coach
Gee, I wonder how Karl got left off the list?

http://www.collegefootballnews.com/2006/Columnists/RC/HireEducation_2.htm

You guys really need to get over the blind hatred for all things SC. I've been checking this site out on and off for the past few months and have noted the unhealthy obsession. It's actually pretty amusing to read the trash posted here.

While I can relate to the pain of mediocrity (SC sucked throughout the 90's with terrible coaching), I never thought it was because of an evil scheme over in westwood. You guys offer nothing beyond repetitious and unrealistic threats of doom if Dorrell fails to get a 9 win season. What happens next year after a 7-5? Nothing. Your AD and president don't give a crap. I guess you can always blame it on the thugs at SC though. That should ease the pain.

There is plenty of bad news coming out of USC lately, but it has more to do with the fact that people give a shit about SC because we're on roll than anything Carroll is, or isn't doing.

Once the cycle changes again and ucla begins to win consistantly - your time on the police blotter will come again (it wasn't a coincidence that the parking scandel came during a successful run).

Lighten up Francis, there are some good things going on (even in westwood).

Trojan trolls
coming out of the woodwork today.

Some one must have a hit a nerve today.

You can have your Pom Pom.

We will get a good coach and own your corrupt asses sooner or later.

Sanchez named as a Rapist
Leave it to a trOJan to completely miss the point of what's going on.  The only trash posted is the garbage that you suc fans spout, trying to pass off your uninformed, uneducated point of view as fact.  I also like how you seem to think that going on the offensive over here and calling us out is going to make people forget about the infractions your thug program has accumulated recently.

But go ahead, if it makes you feel better to blame the Bruins for Vince Young running roughshod over the defeated trOJans, then go ahead.  It only makes you look like an even bigger jackass than you already are.

Who's Blaming the Bruins?
My point is that no one gives a shit about ucla which is why there are no reporters looking into your program.

You guys run with wild accusations against players and then scream cover-up when no charges are brought (except of course when its Maurice Drew).

Keep drinking the kool-aid and enjoy the circle jerk you've got going.

SC will continue the domination.

No one gives a shit about UCLA
except a psycho bitch Trojan like you who actually took the time to post trash on our blog.

And did you see all the posts on BN when the stories came up on MJD? BN posted those stories and wondered what was going on unlike you sorry sons of bitches who will bend over and do anything for some cheap wins.

SC will get burned into ground just like all other corrupt programs. No wonder you SCumbags are Miami of West.

Now go fuck off asshole.

Cry On
You mention Maurice Drew and "no one gives a shit about UCLA" in subsequent sentences, so obviously someone cared enough to make it a big deal.

How does it feel to refute your own argument in two sentences?  Nothing I could say could make you look dumber than you just did, so I'll leave it at that, and thank God that I wasn't born mentally challenged like you.

Cry On!

Ugh...
There's no point in trying to argue rationally. We're just thugs, killers, rapists, Nazis to you guys. You guys are the heroes though. You view our rivalry as good versus evil, black and white. I suppose it's just a sample of what this country has been going through lately...

Oh the hyperbole
Unfair persecution, us poor trOJans are being picked on, blah, blah, blah.  You're the ones making more of it than it is.  We simply demand accountability while you cry and whine and bitch and moan about how we are too vocal in doing so.  The tone we take in our demands is our perogative.

Just because you can't take the moral high ground on this issue, you try and drag us into the mud with you with your hyperbole.  Well, it ain't gonna happen.  Cry me a river, trOJan.

Keep it up
You can slam SC all you want - I have no complaint with that. My point was that this will come back to you when/if you start winning consistantly - which will only happen when you get top talent and a good coach. So now that I think about it, you have nothing to worry about.

Nothing poor about about U$C, son. Your complaints against illustrate just how small you are.

That's funny, because the little man
is the one that has to resort to the same tired argument time after time (i.e. YOU).  So, little man, what is your response to our demands of accountability from Karl Dorrell over the Hale and Ward situation?  You see, we know that all problems are not preventable, but when they do happen, people need to be held responsible.  This is something that you trOJans are too simple and stupid to understand.

By the way, the irony of someone named "Rex" calling me a kid?  Priceless.  Is your daddy named "Tyrannosaurus"?  Cry on, dinoboy.

Sure it's just the haters...
There is no way that some of these guys act out violently off the field, or got caught up in the Hype and started acting like Million Dollar Pro's living it up in posh condo complexes or any of the rest of the laundrey list of allegations against SC players.  While the mediocrity of our program exacerbates our anger at the situation, it does not take away from the fact that SC has more going on than just football and it needs to be addressed.  If we were still on the 90's winning streak and the stuff was coming out about SC without consequence, we would still have the anger we have now.  We would also laugh that it did no good.  This is not a conspiracy, nor do I think anyone has said it was.  That is strawman argument.  We do feel that SC needs to clean house, because players scamming the parking offices, while wrong, is not the same as beating ones wife up, or another student's face, or possesion of dozens of Extacy pills, or taking $10,000+ in free rent.

Oh and didn't the players in the Parking scandal get suspended?  Novel concept huh?

You trOJans are missing the fucking point
"Waah, poor us. We're unfairly being targeted. waah"

Well maybe if Pete didn't let his players get away with so much shit.
"It's not worth reasoning. We're a bunch of thugs to you."
Well maybe if you're players didn't go around beating people, raping people, having drugs, drinking underage and gamblimg then we wouldn't accuse 'SC of such attrocities.

You trojans still make fun of the handicap scandal.
Meanwhile in South Central you guys are illegally recruiting a bunch of fucking thugs.

If UCLA doesn't matter then why the fuck are you here crying like a bitch?

Now go buy drugs from Wright, bet on video games with Byrd, get your jaw broken by Smith, get in a gang bang with Sancez, Dennis, Wright, go beat her up with Rucker, then go with Mauluga to beat up some kid, and suck some dick with Leinart and Lagay.

"(it wasn't a coincidence that the parking scandel came during a successful run)."

Really? So when 'SC was a piece of shit in the 90's nothing happened to them?

Todd Marinovich (While on Probation for Heroin, got caught with Methamphetamines and syringes while skateboarding in a prohibited area. Of course, he also RESISTED ARREST)

Darrell Russell (Accused of drugging his friend Oceania Vaillancourt with GHB [the date-rape drug], and videotaping her while she was raped by his two buddies. Russell was charged with 25 felonies, including rape, penetration with a foreign object, and oral copulation on an unconscious person. In court, he said that Oceania had consented, but that on the tape, she looked drugged-out. Other highlights from Russell: He was suspended from the NFL for a year for substance abuse, and got 3 months added ON for bad behavior off the field. Then he was arrested for a DUI, as he was speeding away from a Nevada whorehouse. Sadly, Darrell was recently killed in a high-speed, one-car traffic accident, on La Cienega Blvd., where driver Mike Bastianelli, a fellow ex-trojan [who also died], crashed into about a dozen obstacles including a parked bus)

JUSTIN MEDLOCK CRASHING AIN'T SO FUNNY NOW, HUH?

So both schools have UGLY problems
You can point at players who are charged and never conicted of anything...last I heard in this country it's called "innocent until proven guilty" and we can point to Ricky Manning beating the crap out of an Asian student or Medlock leaving a fellow Bruin hanging upside down in a car wreck drunk off his ass.

All that proves is that the problem is big-time college athletics. Doesn't matter if it's 'SC, UCLA or Nebraska. Everyone has the same problem. Boosters and administrators willing to overlook anything that might adversely impact fundraising.

Fans willing to coddle and suck up to players and give them a free pass on bad behavior because they are "our guys" and our guys would never do anything wrong.

Geez, until everyone wises up that it's a problem for any college campus, we're always going to have these problems. And if you are going to point to problems players have long after they leave college like Darrell Russell as some indicator of what's wrong with that school's program then you are really dense and ignoring the whole culture of hero worship we have where we pay $65 million for a first round pick, give him a Nike or Addidas contract and expect them to act normally...especially when that guy's homeschool boosters will always stand behind him.

Frankly I'm sick of all this crap from both schools. No one should be casting stones until they clean up their own house and believe me there's enough shit stinking up both campuses these days.

Oh, and by the way, what's up with only 96 African-Americans in your entering freshmen class and 20 of them athletes? What, you guys don't like blacks over there in Westwood? We should rename UCLA...University of Choice for Lots of Asians judging by your admission numbers.

Well now there's a long ass post
that still misses the point.  Good job wasting your time though.  How many times will we have to repeat ourselves.  Until suc owns up to the thuggish actions of its football players, the situations will not be equal.  We believe UCLA should maintain its standards as a place where bad things hopefully do not happen, but if/when they do, that the correct parties are held responsible for their actions.  So far, we have not seen that usc has the sack to do the same, because the transgressors are football players, and they are apparently above the law.

Yikes
I spend a day doing work, and look what happens.

A range war initiated by a bunch of trojan interlopers wasting their time recycling the same flawed, and thoroughly debunked, arguments, all with a dash of concentrated lameness (except Paragon).

I don't know that I have more to say beyond what other BN posters have pointed out already.  I'll just reiterate something I've said before- that it is intellectually dishonest to try to avoid, or deflect from, your obvious issues over there in Trojanland by trying to play the "everyone does it" card.  They don't.  And, when they do, different schools deal with them differently, both before and after the fact.

And, let's see, how could you have finished in a way that could have even further eroded your credibility.  Oh, that's it.  Call us racists while degrading asians.  Bravo.

I totally agree with Menelaus.
Brilliant. That's funny how that Trojan called us racist while he made fun of Asians. Maybe they haven't taught him what racism means yet, probably an honors class at 'SC.

by True Blue and Gold on Jun 21, 2006 9:21 PM PDT reply actions   0 recs

I am an Asian and I'm not calling anyone racist
I am commenting on the fact that UCLA needs to do more to bring in more ethnic diversity and a school getting a 50 percent increase in one ethnic group alone does not do that, especially in a city like Los Angeles where a public institution not only has a mandate, but a moral responsibility to do more to bring in local African-Americans.

So, if you people can stop with the race baiting and face up to a serious and troubling trend in your admissions, that would be more beneficial.

As for 'SC players legal troubles, similar to the exact same sentiments everyone here expressed when Maurice Drew had charges dropped in the Ricky Manning "let's go beat on Asians" party in Westwood, you're innocent until PROVEN guilty.

by God Loves a Trojan on Jun 22, 2006 11:13 AM PDT reply actions   0 recs

Hey genius
Charges against MJD was dismissed.

As for Frostee he transferred to USC from CSU where he apparently already had a history of trouble concerning domestic violence.

What does admissions issue has to do with this thread? If you can't stay on topic, then don't bother.

what does race baiting have to with Frostee beating up his woman (while he was in "school" at SC)?

by bluestreet on Jun 22, 2006 11:34 AM PDT up reply actions   0 recs

You really are a tool
"What UCLA needs to do" is not the issue.  If you have some suggestions as to how UCLA can rectify this without breaking the law, then by all means let's hear it.  If you have no bright ideas, then you're grasping at straws, trying to change the subject to deflect pressure on suc, and therefore, you need to Shut The Fuck Up about the race issue.  The only person race baiting here is you, and it leads me to believe that you are attempting to mask your own racist views.

Let's talk about WHAT SUC NEEDS TO DO to curb the culture of criminals it fosters by sweeping everything under the rug.  Oh wait, you already know what needs to be done.  It's too bad that suc does not have the sack to administer discipline.  trOJans are truly cowards where it counts.

Figures you can't have an intelligent conversation
You know, I haven't been on this board much and thought I would post to add some discussion, but it's sad to see that all you guys post here are "you suck" and other name calling comments.

I raise an issue about how pervasive and detrimental the culture of big time athletics are impacting education...no matter what campus.

How alumni and fans/students are so obsessed they can't see past their narrow vision. How no matter how wrong an athlete's actions, we will overlook them because they are "one of us."

There are some things about USC's program I am truly sorry about. I sincerely hope you guys have the maturity to recognize there are serious problems in your own program as well and simply not settle for the de facto argument that just because someone else is worse then we're okay.

That's an attitude that allowed Nebraska to get away with Lawrence Phillips, it allowed Miami to get away with assaults, rapes and drug dealing and it allows schools even like UCLA to breed a culture of permissiveness and entitlement where players and ex-players assault people just because of their race.

And if you are going to use the argument that M Drew was not charged and therefore excused from any misdeed, then you better be fair and say the same thing for Mark Sanchez. You can't have it both ways. You are innocent until proven guilty and last time I checked the only players from USC or UCLA that have actually been convicted of something were the players involved in the handicapped decal scandal.

You guys need to grow up.

by God Loves a Trojan on Jun 23, 2006 2:28 PM PDT reply actions   0 recs

Can't have an intelligent conversation
...with a brick wall.  You being the brick wall, of course.  Your lack of intelligence and uncanny ability to miss the point can only be described as trOJan-esque.

I'm only going to say this one more time.  Playing the "everybody does it" card does not work.  If you want to see the true difference between us, just look at the reactions to the different incidents that have taken place recently.  When Medlock was charged with his DUI, we wanted to know the circumstances, and demanded that the appropriate measures were taken.  When the plethora of SUC infractions came to the surface, all you heard from SUC-ville was weak excuses, attempting to cover up their reprehensible behavior.

Your smack is so weak that once again you bring race into the equation.  Does race somehow have something to do with the fact that video surveillance shows that Mo had nothing to do with the altercation?  Does race have something to do with the fact that your football players beat up students and other football players, brandish realistic looking weapons, are caught with Ecstacy in their rooms, go on a publicly drunken rampage ending in a possible rape of a young woman?  Sadly for you, I could go on and on.

You can't dispute any of this.  We went to a better school than you, and therefore picking apart and blowing up the logical holes in your statements is a cakewalk.  By the way, if you look carefully (I know reading comprehension isn't your strong point, so try and keep up) it is your lowlife trOJan buddies taking the "you suck" approach to this argument.  Taking a look at the "argument" you presented, you are the one that needs to "grow up".

by scittles on Jun 23, 2006 5:01 PM PDT up reply actions   0 recs

Lacking Intellegence
The only thing I can agree with, perhaps, is that you obviously haven't visited this blog much.  If you had, you would have seen how thoroughly we had already debunked your ridiculous "everyone does it" argument.  As we already know, that's just a lame post-facto excuse raised by SC fans to justify what appears to be a disturbing pattern of bad behavior coming from Carroll's football squad.

And, if you'd visited here more, you'd know how silly your "overlook them because they are 'one of us'" statement is.  Unlike many Trojan fans, we have been very consistent in discussing incidents of player misconduct at both USC and UCLA, for example, criticising Dorrell for not suspending Ward and Hale.

The remainder of your post is simply ill-informed, partisan gunk.  It hardly warrants a response, other than to say that it is fairly obviously you that have a warped perspective, and it's you that needs to grow up.
