The Rose Bowl

From ESPN.com, Feldman's Top 10 Stadiums:

"3. Rose Bowl: I know UCLA rarely sells this place out, but I'm focusing mainly on the picturesque setting -- with the stadium nestled into the Arroyo Seco against the backdrop of the San Gabriel Mountains -- and all the magical moments that have happened here."

Now how about we show up this year, sell out the Rose Bowl and create a home field advantage that will push this ranking to #1.

This is a FanPost and does not necessarily reflect the views of BruinsNation's (BN) editors. It does reflect the views of this particular fan though, which is as important as the views of BN's editors.

Rose Bowl
I spent the last 2 years at the Coliseum and have been at the Rose Bowl since the beginning.

I have only missed 4 games in 26 years. If KD can put a team on the field that truly represents UCLA and its tradition of winning, we could fill the place each year and have a true home field advantage.

and
if the alumni decided to wear true blue and not gray or white or any other color, we'd look friggan intimidating.  When I go to the coliseum for sc/ucla games and see the whole stadium in red, I'll be honest and say that it makes me jealous that our alumni dont do the same in blue.

True
I look very intimidating in my Cade McNown powder blue replica jersey.  :)

That scares me
And I'm practically fearless.

Its not KD's fault......
If the Rose Bowl were on campus it would sell out.

I'm going to pull this theory out of left field: Terry Donahue is a pussy. No national titles, no heisman trophies, no NFL skills as an administrator.

Kinda is
It's not all his fault, but if there was a good team, the fans would come.

And, if the stadium was on campus, I might not.  Just imagine finding a parking spot.  The Rose Bowl and surrounding area is something too many people take for granted (not saying you do).

the rose bowl is a little far, BUT
having a program mired in mediocrity for years doesn't help.  I think too many of us have had our hearts broken too many years, 2001 being the last for me.  But for those of you who don't remember, we had 6000+ show up for KD's first fall scrimmage down at CSFullerton.  That's a long ways as well but we were all very excited about possibly fixing the program.  And while it hasn't happened, the fans are out there and willing to spend the money, they just need a program that will be competitive, and show some real progress.  I'm still upset at the attendance #'s for Pauley.  Next year that place better be packed!  After a run to the NC game with a lot of returning talent, we'd better show up and show some pride.  As for the Rose bowl, I think we either have to go to a BCS bowl and win, or hire a new coach before the #'s go up.  So many of the big attendance games have boosted #'s from the "I'm going to college" program, or they are from the SC game.  Either way there are too many SC fans in those crowds.  I f you build it (a winning Program) they will come.  Cheesey but true.
