Walker Ineligible

http://sports.espn.go.com/ncaa/recruiting/news/story?id=2515108

Bill Walker, OJ Mayo's star "team"mate, was ruled ineligible to play his final year in high school.  I wonder how this will affect his and Mayo's recruitment?  I would think it would be tough for a basketball powerhouse to make this kid an offer after not seeing him play for a year and since it is expected that he and Mayo will jump to the NBA after one year.

This is a FanPost and does not necessarily reflect the views of BruinsNation's (BN) editors. It does reflect the views of this particular fan though, which is as important as the views of BN's editors.

What kind of retards.....
are they recruiting at SC? How many years has Bill Walker been playing in high school? OJ Mayo is being publically ridiculed by Andy Katz and Pat Forde.

It almost seems like they're calling Floyd a moron for getting in bed with sports agents.

By the way
This is what I meant when I said this wouldn't garner USC any of the good kind of publicity.  And they haven't even gotten the commitment yet to make it worth their while.

Hold the phone
Where in either article is Mayo ridiculed by Katz or Forde?

College basketball is certainly ridiculed (DeLoss Dodd's quote is telling, although I've similarly alluded to the sport's incredibly dirty existence and been screamed at by the basketball nuts), but I don't see where Mayo gets targeted.

Hmmm
You may be right on the Katz one, but are you saying noone is wondering aloud about what Mayo is doing and why?  And if I bothered doing a google search, I could probably find a few other articles on the subject.

I personally don't necessarily blame Mayo, as I've said, but I think its fair to say that other may be.

Seth Davis...
is now getting in on the action.  He provides some good incite into Mayo's current living and role model situation.

Thanks for that link
Three suspensions last year? He sounds perfect for 'SC.

Will USC's OJ history repeat itself?
OJ Mayo sounds like an idiot. That 3rd suspension sounds like rapist behavior. I think Mayo will never live up to expectations. If anything he seems predisposed to looking down on the college game.
