UCLA Football changes away jerseys

I don't like it.

This is a FanPost and does not necessarily reflect the views of BruinsNation's (BN) editors. It does reflect the views of this particular fan though, which is as important as the views of BN's editors.

Is the helmet
going to have the UCLA in the lighter blue also?

I hope not
Ugh, that'd be awful.

That's fitting.
Powder blue looks good as the main color on our home uniforms.  But as stripes and numbers mixed with white?  Forgive me for not being politically correct, but that uniform just looks gay.  It's weak.  It really matches the personality of the football program.  Do we have someone from SUC making the decisions regarding the football team?  Sickening.

Priorities
Thank goodness someone in the Athletic Department has a focused set of priorities and goals for the football program.

The biggest problem facing our program has been our "away jerseys". They have contributed to sloppy play, poor game management and ineffective recruiting.

I'm glad someone took the time to get the heart of the problems within the program. These jerseys will certainly have an impact on the success of the team.

PS. They are totally butt ugly. I'm old. But, I never liked the move to more and more baby blue. I much prefer the dark blue and gold stripes. But, hey, I'm not one of the sharp minds guiding this program to success.

I am with you 66
They look aweful. And talk about sending bad signals on priorities of our program. Instead of figuring out how to close the gap with USC, here we are fiddling with our jerseys.

Tells you something about our football program ... doesn't it?

I like it except ...
for the black bordering on the number. The light blue number with the gold trim is sufficent. Our true colors are powder blue and gold. We should be proud of that. It's about time our road uniform reflected our true colors, and not that of Cal. Personally, I like our powder blue and gold because it sets us apart from the rest of the crowd. Not many other schools have the same color that we do. And on the issue of looking weak against our opponents, I believe our basketball team wears powder blue and gold too. They don't seem to have a problem winning, back then or now.

GO BRUINS!!!

this was an Adidas decision
They wanted to change up the look of the away jersey to "freshen it up."  The team jersey's may have some slight differences, to those being sold at the store so they don't look so off.  The color scheme looks like a hockey jersey to me.  For once though, this was not the AD being lame.

Addidas?
And, Addidas gets to dress us because...?

When did they start running our programs?

Was it Addidas that chose to punt in the SC game? Are we blaming KD for things beyond his control?

Just curious to see how much influence a foreign shoe company has over our athletic department.

A minor correction, since I don't have all of...
facts.  I believe Adidas has some pull with regard to some of the uniform styling.  The Athletic Dept. has to approve it, but I don't think it was a case of window dressing the Football program.  It could be another part of the true blue campaign where the dept. was rebranding the color to the Columbia blue instead of the Royal or Powder or Navy.  But alot of the impression that I got was that Adidas was trying to sell more jerseys when they came up with the style you see in the store.  How this will translate to the field uniforms, I don't know.

Come on, this isn't as bad as the black uni's
those were the worst thing ever, UCLA doesn't even use black.
