Roll Bama Roll College Pick 'Em Week 1
So Nico over at Roll Bama Roll has set up a weekly colllege Pick 'Em game for everyone in the blogosphere. Here are the details posted on RBR:
- Nico (RBR) picks 12 games a week:
- Games involving the AP Top 10 (I think he is switching to the BlogPoll top 10)
- Alabama's game
- Game Nico chooses to get the total up to 12
So here are the 12 games for this week. My picks are in bold:
- North Texas at Texas
- Northern Illinois at Ohio State
- California at Tennessee
- Marshall at West Virginia
- Hawaii at Alabama
- Southern Miss at Florida
- UAB at Oklahoma
- Washington State at Auburn
- Notre Dame at Georgia Tech (Played in Atlanta)
- Louisiana-Lafayette at LSU
- USC at Arkansas
- Florida State at Miami
Cal at Tennessee: Cal is emerging as one of favorites of ESPN, who are anxious to shed their image of being a regional network. They are building up Cal as USC's rival the same way Michigan is rival with Ohio State. lol Lot of people around the country will be watching this game and use it as a short term (inaccurate) barometer whether Pac-10 is a legit conference. I think Cal will lose. They just announced Longshore as the starter for this game. Longshore barely beat out Ayoub (arguably the worst QB in the Pac-10 last year). He played one insignificant game against some cupcake team last year before getting injured. Now he gets to take on a fired up Volunteer stadium at Neyland Stadium, one of the toughest venues in the game. Sure Cal will have Lynch and a solid OL, but I think Longshore may not be ready yet. While on the other side Eric Ainge will have the QB controversy behind him, and an in experienced Cal secondary to exploit. Without Mixon (senior CB out with an ACL injury) in the Cal secondary I can see Ainge doing some of this:

Rumor had it that Envy drives some to blind Hatred
Funny thing is, I'm going to South Bend to cheer on the Gutties against ND. Well, at least to watch someone lose. ;)
"When it comes to SCum, I always end up going with my heart. I am picking these thugs to lose. Screw Pac-10 pride. F*CK SC"

Classy
But go on and preach those family values, oh saintly fan of one of the most out of control programs in the country. But when your daughters get raped and then go to the police and get death threats from your fellow fans, don't come crying to us, asshat.

Not so sure about the Cal game...
I also disagree with your pick involving an ARKANSAS upset over the TROJANS. I don't think Arkansas can compete with all the firepower Carroll has amassed in South Central. But I do agree that it would be incredibly nice to celebrate a BRUIN victory along with a USC upset. Talk about a perfect Saturday. That is a rarity that has not occured since CAL took down USC in 2003.
Only 2 more days!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
GO UCLA

That is why ...
I think SC will probably win, but emotion does play a huge part iin college football. So we will see.
I honestly think TN will beat Cal.

That little incident to which you refer
Involved him breaking his toe while kicking a man on the ground during a bar brawl at 4:20am, after that man allegedly attempted to steal a relative's car.
If you are going to be the CFB police, then police everyone...the fact that you reference the incident means you knew about it, and deciding to leave out info of that nature just makes you seem more antagonistic to 'SC, and a less credible source around the blogosphere. Call a spade a spade, regardless of who or what it is. We've had a bad offseason, but don't downplay everyone else's unless you really want that stigma to grow.

i think I gave a link to McFadden's incident
So McFadden was acting like a Pom Pom Trojan. That's horrible. But I don't believe Hogs have the same rap sheet like Pom Pom's USC program.
FWIW my brain tells me SC will win the game. But I am going with my heart.
And it's not our fault when you have your football players walking around/acting like bunch of thuggish assholes who never take any responsibity. That let's the stigma grow. Don't blame bunch of bloggers on the internets.

I'm not blaming you
Call a spade a spade, but do it consistently. There is absolutely no way you didn't know why McFadden was out...any credible website that would have mentioned it would also have mentioned the reason for it, and that reason is worse than a lot of stuff a lot of Trojans you've been bashing have done.

You sound clueless
I really do not need a lecture from you about the credibility of BN. We feel pretty good about where we are with our peers from the blogosphere.
What's so difficult to understand here? We are Bruins. We hate your sorry ass piece of shit school full thugs and goons in the football program. We get a front row seat because of being in the same town. And since we are in the same conference we write about it. It's that simple.
I am sure Arkansas has its off-field issues and I am sure their rivals are commenting on it. It's not our job to police the entire world of college football.
SMQ and EDSBS love writing about the big picture a lot. More power to them. While we keep our focus on "Bruins," just like the name of this blog implies. This is a team blog. And Trojans happen to be our sworn enemy. So it makes more than sense to point out all the reports of rapes, drug use, gun brandishing, stealing coming out of your corrupt and lawless football program.
The only people who are losing credibility are 90 percent of delusional Toejams who are still in denial about your thug football program and would like to forget everything by saying how Pom Pom is so awesome. Yes, that was a link to your post ooohing and aaahing about your thug football team like teenage school girl.
Next time you come on here and try to lecture us about credibility take a look at yourself and the sorry, pathetic, delusional Trojan nation. But if you keep try to sound righteous again, I will tell you to go Cheney yourself.

Just an FYI for SC fans
I would prefer, as I am sure BN would, that you come over to Conquest Chronicles and voice your opinions there. It benefits us all if we stick to sports and leave the persomal attacks out of it. They are entitled to their opinion as are we but is suits us better if keep it to our own site.
Nestor, thanks for letting me post this up. I think we are all better served if keep to our own sites unless it's constructive conversation.
Sorry for the rant.

Thank you
It's very much the good(Bruins)vs evil(Trojans),and good will always prevail. Besides, your named after a condom, how "lucky" is that.
So tell me "uscfamilyman", how do you justify what has gone on at Thug University these past several months to your children?? Should be an interesting conversation. Anyone have posters of Frostee Rucker in their room??

Damn it Nestor!!!
"Here sweetie, these are the people not to emulate because they are on the Fulmer Cup."
So basically what you are telling us that you teach your child is that you can do what you want as long as you have high priced lawyers to get your dumb-ass out of jail. Seriously, how do you not question all the "rumors" coming out of Fig Tech of rape and other general thuggery? Do you tell your children that this "happens to every program" and that it is alright as long as your football team is winning? There is no way I'd teach my children that it is alright to first put yourself into the compromising situations that SC players always find a way to be in.
Don't come to our website and question anything that we are doing or saying because this is a BRUIN website.
Oh ya, and Marshall won the Fulmer Cup you idiot.

Snappy Comeback
Named after Cal's Mascot???
Repeat after me...Cal Bears.....UCLA Bruins.
Your ability to stay on point befuddles all.
Should be an interesting conversation when you attempt to justify the out of control FB program at $UC by way of Fulmer Cup points.
Children, "Listen up, The truth is in the Cup".
Congrats on being mentioned on ESPN, along with all the other D1 schools. Such an honor.
It seems apparent where you went to school. Money not so well spent.
If you don't like the site, stay off of it.
