Around SBN: The cost of firing vs. the cost of retaining head coaches

i'm tired of dorrell making comments like

"we're developing on that side of the ball. we're growing as a team. we have a lot to learn and we're learning that. offense will only improve with more game experience and they're getting that." WTF

why doesn't dorrell just fess up and say the play calling was abysmal and didn't give the team a chance. we're eternally learning and growing according to him. this is his 4th freaking year.

by the way a sign of a good coach is having a team that improves during the season. his teams always regress during the season, especially this year. obviously we're not "learning" anything. the more coaching they get the worse off they are. players seem to get less confident as year goes on too, with dorrell having more time to taint their minds.

This is a FanPost and does not necessarily reflect the views of BruinsNation's (BN) editors. It does reflect the views of this particular fan though, which is as important as the views of BN's editors.

That sounds like a Lavin comment.
I have an idea for a poll.
We need 5 Lavin quotes and 5 Dorrell quotes, and let's have people guess which quote is from which coach.

amen
just heard him on AM 570 and he said the same things over and over. He said they are going to fix things and get back on track for Stanford.  We will beat Stanford, no doubt, and he will come out triumphant saying that they fixed things that were wrong at Washington.  But against Arizona he won't have that excuse again ... or will he? He sure loves it. I still say he will resort to the "rebuilding year" trump card at some point, despite this being his "best team ever," after the loss to Notre Dame on national television.
I truly hope for a great season, but if we dont have one we must dumpdorrell.com

how about "we have a young team"
i'm tired of that excuse.  he makes it seem like none of these guys played football.  most of our starters are upperclassmen and besides you are only a young team for a couple of games.  after a while shouldnt these players get it?  BO has been involved in the offense for over a year, does that make him young?  we have great "young" players, let them play!!
