It's Official: Dorrell Destroys Ben Olson's Career at UCLA

From Dohn's blog:

This is from UCLA. QB Ben Olson will have surgery on his left knee.
UCLA quarterback Ben Olson has a partial tear of the lateral collateral ligament in his left knee. As a precaution, Olson will have an arthroscopy on his left knee on Tuesday to check for a possible tear of the lateral meniscus (cartilage). An estimate on his return will not be known until after the procedure.
From the department of "I told you sos (as I bang my head against the wall)" here is once again snipets of a BN post from last Feb, when Dorrell announced the hiring of offensive line coach Bob Connelly:
Bob Connelly has to go.  It's unthinkable that a coach working with BCS league talent can't have his players more prepared to play the game than he does.  Injuries and inexperience are only excuses for so long, and there's no way any other major football program would stand for it's O-Line giving up 11 sacks in one game like we did in the Iron Bowl.  JP is a tough kid, but he's taken way too many hits already and at some point he's going to get hurt having to scramble for his life nearly every down.
That was from our friends at Roll Bama Roll, Crimson Tide bloggers who also shared this on Connelly:
"Fire offensive line coach Bob Connelly. It is incredible how many times Bama's QB has been sacked in the last two years. Even if they aren't getting sacked, they're running for the their lives almost every passing play (which begs the question, why don't we use the shotgun more?)"
Tell me once again why should KD be allowed to risk Chris Forcier's career by having him play behind a Connelly coached offensive line that "can't block a soul"?

GO BRUINS.

This is terrible.

Nothing good comes out of KD's program
4 1/2 years of mediocre UCLA football.

Fellow Bruins taking sides and turing on each other.

No player development, and worse, players' careers ruined.

And here is the worst part.  4 1/2 years of our football lives flushed down the toilet with nothing to show for it.  And I mean, absolutely nothing.

My Prayers Go Out to Ben Olson
and his family.

He truly deserves much more than this.

So does every player on the team.

And, please, KD, you've ruined enough players. Leave Forcier alone.

And, please, Chris' parents, don't let him play for this coach.

Are you F--king kidding me?
Some may make the argument that you can't blame the coach for this kind of injury. I beg to differ. The way he left BO in the Utah game to take shot after shot in the second half to get a concussion was just playing with fire. It's clear that KD doesn't put his players' health first, and that's yet another sign of a bad coach. In boxing, they end the fight on a TKO when a fighter is unable to defend himself. Football needs something similar because of coaches like KD.

I hope BO recovers fully, and is able to showcase his talents under a competent head coach next year. Best wishes to Ben (and Markey, and pretty much everyone else done in by the injury bug because of Mr. Incompetent).

Not to mention the fact that...
...they should have had Bethel-Thompson in at the end of the Utah game to get some experience, just in case something like the ND situation came to pass.

Coaching
This is what happens when you have a KD has your head football coach you get stuck off with either unoroven assistants or assistant coaches that get run of town

Any well proven well respected Assitant Coach doesn't want to come and be part of Dorrel's staff for fear Dorell will throw them under the bus and blame them for a season gone bad

4 1/2, We're #4
Maybe DumpDorrell.com's new shirt has this math equation?

4 1/2 yrs = #4 = ByeByeKD

This is wrong
This coach is wrong, this system is wrong, our QB's going down left and right is wrong.

I hope Ben Olson gets to showcase the talent that he has... I really didn't think I'd see another Steve Lavin at UCLA, but alas, it's our worst nightmare.

What the hell is wrong...
with KD? Hiring a guy like this? He REALLY should just resign. I had no idea about this (on Connelly), but just watching our o-line this year I knew something wasn't right with this guy. I've always thought BO was truly better than he displayed on the field, but now the final piece of the puzzle has been placed and it ALL makes sense. I hope BO gets to display his true potential under a much better coach next year. Our players deserve SO MUCH better. I feel for the seniors this year. They could have been title contenders and instead they're stuck with an inept coach that refuses to admit that he's a fraud. DG should fire him just for that hire.

BO should be fine
I know the sound of the injury sounds bad but if they find he has torn his meniscus, it's not that hard of an injury to come back from. Last summer I had 20% of mine removed (early Aug, and wanting to be ready for FB season) was doing therapy within 4 days of surgery and was walking with out crutches within 1 week, and ready just in time for home opener. So it sounds bad but for some one who's younger than me, more fit than myself, and has a better training staff and dr's he will be back by early Nov. But yeah KD should be more careful with our guys, what was he thinking when BO went down the first time, and then PC, not to have some one more prepared for this kind of situation was just STUPID!!!! WE need to get rid of KD NOW...He needs to make sure that BT and OR are well prepared for Cal next week because they are a train looking to make a big train wreck out of us, on their way to #1.
