The Numbers Game: OL woes continue

Hearing that Pat Cowan got hurt AGAIN in a game, and with no less than a concussion AND a collapsed lung, was even more upsettinng than all the other legitimately upsetting, just-as-important injuries sustained by all of our players this season.

I mean, haven't the O-line and even OL coach Bob Connelly been saying to the press in recent weeks how important it is that they protect PC?

What in the name of all that's good and pure is going on with our offensive line?  I hadn't imagined this was possible, but somehow Bob Connelly is even WORSE than Jim Colletto.

Kuwada of the OCR touched on some of this a couple of weeks ago in his piece re: our poor offensive stats.

But THIS???

SACKS ALLOWED?
81th out of 119 teams, allowing 22 sacks for 176 yards lost.

TIME OF POSSESSION?
82nd out of 119 teams, at 29:07 a game.

TACKLES FOR LOSS ALLOWED?
95th out of 119 teams, allowing 65 TFLs for 274 yards lost.

FIRST DOWNS?
10th in the Pac-10, with only 167 in 9 total games.

Ohhhhh boy.  We have a Cuisinart O-line -- and our QBs are getting shredded.
