WSU Passes On DyNoMite Walker

So much for all the nonsense about WSU being "interested" in DeWayne. They don't even wait till the Vegas Bowl to make their decision. According to Scout.com they already have made a decision on their next HC. And they are going with some guy from Eastern Washington U over DeWayne:

BREAKING NEWS: KREM 2 News in Spokane is reporting that the WSU athletic department has selected Paul Wulff to be its new head football coach, with WSU President Elson Floyd having the final decision. Washington State has scheduled a 3 p.m. press conference for Tuesday, Dec. 11, to introduce the Cougars new head coach, the school said in a late Monday evening release.

WSU Director of Athletics Jim Sterk and the new head coach will be in attendance.

Wulff guided his Eastern Eagles to a 9-4 record this season, including a huge first-round upset win over No. 3 McNeese State. In his eight years at Eastern, Wulff has compiled a 50-32 record.

Cougar color commentator and former Cougar coach Jim Walden has said that Wulff has done a standout job building EWU despite having one of the smallest budgets in That's right. The Wazzu Cougars hired some dude from EWU rather than waiting for the most awesome DyNoMite Walker. So much for that hype.

GO BRUINS.

Did DW Even Interview?
Anyone surprised?

The DW forces will spin this as: He let them know he was in contention at UCLA which was his first choice.

And, then: We have to give DW the job or keep him as DW because he gave up a head coaching job at WSU for us.

Wait and see -- we will hear some of this crap.

We won't hear, he lost out to a guy from a school we've never heard of.

I am not sure
If they even interviewed DyNoMite.

Good for Washington State
They went out and hired a guy who was a proven, successful head coach.  It doesn't matter much to me that it was division 1-AA.

Question:  How come UCLA doesn't seem to be looking at any D-1AA or D-2 successful head coaches?  It seems like if they are winners, then they have done a good job motivating and teaching 18-22 year old men.

I guess
That would represent "thinking out of the box" for the pencil pushing losers in Morgan Ctr?

I wouldn't mind
The coach from Appalachian State.

How much more irrelevant can Doh! get
Homer Simpson is going to have to copyright his pet phrase, because it's starting to lose its association with him and get more and more associated with our friend Brian "Doh!" Dohn.

Doh! was all over the place telling us how Coach Walker was just about a shoo-in for the Wazzou job, and probably was going to have the school re-named in his honor.  As it turns out, he not only did not get hired, he did not even get interviewed.

Yeah, Doh!.  You had a real scoop there.  Did you have lunch with three wealthy and influential Wazzou alums?  Or are you just doing more of the same - acting as an unabashed shill for any incumbent?  What an absolute loser.

I Posted a Question on a Dohn Thread
asking, simply, whether it was true tha DW didn't even get a WSU interview.

Mark my words, Doh will now take the position that Walker withdrew because he was saving himself for UCLA.

Yeah, and when he was a kid, before he met Mrs. Fox, Fox didn't have sex with Marilyn Monroe because he was saving himself for the future Ms. F.

Fact that he couldn't get within a mile or two of MM had nothing to do with it.

(Sigh.)
I never even got an interview about having sex with Marilyn Monroe.

Sounds like WSU is smarter than UCLA
and faster.  They went out and hired an experienced winner as head coach.  Looks like we might end up with an inexperienced loser (Walker)  And it will take us longer to do it.  Good job!
