Mendenhall In The UCLA Picture?
I have no idea how reliable this blog - As The Coach Turns - is. But take it for what its worth:
UCLAThe only update I have is that Chris Peterson is 100% out of consideration. Norm Chow got an interview this morning. Bronco Mendenhall might be gaining favor.
This is how the writer describes his blog:
I spent years working in Major Division 1 athletic departments. I talk to reporters, university officials and boosters daily. I make nothing up and only post what i hear from solid sources. take it or leave it but enjoy the scoop. this is going to be one of the better carousels in quite some time. I wonder where he is getting the Mendenhall scoop? I haven't seen his named mentioned anywhere. This is a FanPost and does not necessarily reflect the views of BruinsNation's (BN) editors. It does reflect the views of this particular fan though, which is as important as the views of BN's editors.

Hey, the LV Bowl uses the Venetian...
Here's a THOUGHT! Let's pull a page out of the GA Tech playbook and set up some interviews at one of their conference rooms as long as we're in town!

Or maybe I just took what was above
For the record, I would welcome Mendenhall to Westwood.

I like Mendenhall, too
I was very impressed with BYU against UCLA. They were the better team that day thought they lost. They absolutely knocked the crap out of us. Very physical, disciplined and well-coached.
I thought back then, BM would be a good choice.
I think we have many good choices, including NC and others. Whoever DG picks I'm sure will be a huge improvement over KD. BM for sure.

A monkey
The whole lets get someone (because anyone is better than KD) is an asinine argument.

Walker vs Mendenhall in the LV Bowl
That damn dilemma again: Which team would you root for?
If it comes down to this, it is a no-brainer.

If DG turns the Vegas bowl

One might say...
We should be talking about the pros/cons of several well-qualified, proven candidates, but instead we're in full melt-down mode, staring at another 5-year "experiment" square in the face.

Just relax...for now...
I have to give DG the benefit of the doubt, and here is why: KD did not get fired because his program was out of control, because his players were punks or because he had a meltdown. He was fired because he was not successful enough. In my mind, that means that DG is after a serious hire and not OTJ v2.0. And really, would he have made that call if he didn't have something up his sleeve? We can only hope that is the case, but I am clinging to that hope. Of course, the scary part is what if Walker is his backup plan and that is all we are left with...but as of now, I am still hopeful and DG is 1 for 1 on the list of things we wanted after the season.

Paul Johnson
Guerrero's secret plan had better be a good one. If it turns out he's been twiddling his thumbs while the good coaches go other places and we're left with Walker or Chow/Walker, we'll need to fire up dumpguerrero.com. He farted around too long on firing Dorrell, he should have been fired him after the Utah game, or at the very latest after the Notre Dame game, and we should have hired our new coach already.
