The Dorrelistas and Choker Supporters
Every now and then, I will check out other bruin sites to see if I might find any new information regarding our coaching situation. Today, I found this interesting (or not so interesting) post on bruingold.com.
http://www.bruingold.com/forums/index.php?az=show_topic&forum=108&topic_id=57636&mode=fu ll&page=
I'm sure some of you have also wandered into this site, but, if you haven't, be warned. People on that site HATE us here at BN. They dislike everything about us (quite frankly, I could care less).
When I first arrived at BN, I would often read posts that mentioned the term "Dorrellistas." Who are these people, I thought to myself. Do they really exist? Clearly, no one in their right mind would like to keep Dorrell as head coach. However, on my very first stumble to bruingold.com, I found several posts campaigning for Dorrell and his retention. I then posted a very simple post outlining why Dorrell shouldn't remain coach. They just didn't understand. They thought I was being "harsh" and not giving him credit where it was due. That was a little over two months ago.
Today I ventured onto the site to see what else I could find, and low and behold, look what I found (Funny that post would describe us as evil, venomous spitters when they themselves talk smack about us to the Chancellor himself) I don't know about you, but in my eyes, certainly nothing could be more evil and venomous spewing than a whiney e-mail to our Chancellor complaining about other Bruins.
Anyhow, my point in all this is to specifically point out who the Dorrellistas and Choker supporters are. Their support for Walker and Walker/Chow is as ardent as their support for Dorrell was. Go to their site now and count up all the posts that praise Walker. It's disgusting. My fellow Bruins, THIS is why we must continue the good fight that Nestor has implored us to fight. This is why we must not let up.
Sure, DG might be doing a fantastic job behind the curtains, but as long as fanatics like these exist, we cannot let up. If you haven't already emailed DG and Chancellor Block, you better get it on it now.
This is a FanPost and does not necessarily reflect the views of BruinsNation's (BN) editors. It does reflect the views of this particular fan though, which is as important as the views of BN's editors.

EDSBS hates too
If Dan serves up a home run hire and UCLA starts to succeed like the hoops team trust me we will call off the dogs. Howland is worshiped on this site for one reason and one reason only - he is SUCCESSFUL. We do not care if the guy is a fellow Bruin (Wooden went to Purdue after all), we do not care if he is buddies with Snoop Dogg or whatever. We want success, because that is what UCLA instilled in us and expected of us.
Potential vs. Results
Results or potential?
Most of us here at BN want a coach with a winning background. We want someone who has been a proven winner before as a head coach, because we think that if he's been successful before, he's more likely to be successful now.
The Chow/Walker supporters think they envision potential in those guys for the future, and want to seem them given a chance.
While I clearly want the "results" coach (Jones, Leach, Petersen and Mendenhall are on my wish list), I can understand why the BG fans want Chow or Walker. They want something new, even if I don't agree with them.
This kind of argument is made all over sports -- there's always teams and fans who favor the young, talented kid over the proven veteran, there's the sabermetrics/Moneyball vs. scouts approach in baseball, there's the NBA putting more emphasis on potential in young players than actual results.
I understand the BruinGold folks -- I just don't agree with them at all.
And I'd like to believe that Dan Guerrero is on our side because he did fire Dorrell, despite his "potential" and because of his results.
You guys can do what you want
Everything about the current administration is double-plus good. Nestor is evil. Leach is evil. Anyone who has ever coached before is evil.
Wait a minute - here they come now. Good b ....
this guy UCLAScout has a hard on
Huh?
..They are also in dire need of a good grammar lesson and instruction on how to use their spell checkers. Or, at the very least, purchasing a keyboard that has functioning "e" and "i" keys.

100% agree with all of you
The grammar at Bruin Gold
I'm not saying anything! I'm just saying!
Also, the funny thing is that I found Bruin Gold years ago skimmed through and promptly forgot about it. It wasn't fulfilling. I found their thinking antiquated and unimaginative. Some of their statistical compendiums are incomplete. And, finally it does seem to me that they think wishing for a National Championship is enough.
I only found out about Bruinsnation this year because after the Debacle in Utah, I had had enough and went looking for a Fire Dorrell Website or I was going to start one of my own. After I found DD, I kept hearing about things being crossed posted from Bruinsnation, and now here I am.
Home Again.
Question

They are pathetic
Their lack of logic confounds me...here we are without a coach, discussing candidates, and we are still called haters! We are pretty clear on whom we would like as head coach, and whom we would not. They, on the other hand, are completely subservient to anything that is given them, like little puppy dogs. They kiss so much ass their lips must be chapped. Frankly, most of them exhibit the personality of low-level, lazy employees whose only interest is in maintaining the status quo so that they can keep their job with no interest in getting promoted, because God forbid a new boss might actually make them work.
