Walker's Brother Smearing Neuhiesel Online
Hello everyone.
I thought I was going to stay away from the UCLA sites during the Holidays, but couldn't help it. I took a little gander at the cess pool entitled, "We Want Walker." I am not going to give those losers a link and drive their traffic up. Instead I will post this, which is from DeWayne Walker's brother. Not only are they now on an all out campaign for this loser, they are doing it by smearing UCLA alums like RN:
If Neuhisel or Golden is hired, how will they recruit? DeWayne's detractors blighthly dismisses the recruiting coups that UCLA has scored over the past two years. Who will give Golden directions to the the Southern California high school coaches who that are presently sending their youngster to UCLA. Neuhisel has not recruited the PAC 10 in six years. And, if you review his success in recruiting Washington state players while he was at the University of Washington you will see that he did not do well. Another brother of mine and DeWayne is a 1975 University of Washington gradaute. His greatest complaint against Neuheisel is not that he lied and cast a cloud over his alma mater for recruiting violations, it is that Neuheisel lost the recruiting edge in the state of Washington that Don James spent a quarter of a century building. My UW brother claims that Willingham has had slow success at UW over the past three years because it has taken him that long to retake the state. If anyone believes that Neuheisel and Golden can go where DeWayne and Scott have been the last two years and bring those recruits to UCLA they should rethink their position. DeWayne's contacts in the southern california area comes from actively recruiting that area since the mid-1990s. Again that is from some guy who claims to be DeWayne's borther, who goes on to make the argument only Walker can recruit at UCLA and no one else.Like many other Neuhiesel is not my number 1 choice. But already we have seen info about how lot of the negative stories about RN has been overblown.
It is absurd to argue only Walker can recruit at UCLA and that RN will not be a dynamic recruiter with his experience and charisma that he has to offer.
Folks I really believe lot of this garbage coming from Walker camp is concerted and I will not be surprised if Walker himself is aware of it.
And it is just crazy to see there are some UCLA fans who are falling for this promoting "interim" coach to the full time position nonsense after what we have been through with Lavin.
These people are just shameless.
This is a FanPost and does not necessarily reflect the views of BruinsNation's (BN) editors. It does reflect the views of this particular fan though, which is as important as the views of BN's editors.

So Scott Comes Along, Too?
I have absolutely no issues with Scott's arrests and defended his hire -- but I don't think he did the job and should not come back.
Or course, I don't want DW as HC either.
The guy who started that Walker site
There used to be a blackjack on BN, who was huge pimp for Walker and Scott.
Then again apparently he was a former Dorrellista, who had issued a public apology to A, M, and N.
At least the Lavinistas had some form of shame. If a jackhole like blackjack is any proof, Dorrellistas are just shameless and are now reappearing as Walkerites.
Just amazing. They wouldn't bash Dorrell because he was a former Bruin, but they are pulling out all the stops to smear RN, who is also a former Bruin.
The fixation over Walker
Fixation is bad enough, but fixation over mediocre coaches...
We need a clean break from KD. I repeat, CLEAN BREAK. For the good of UCLA.
Unspoken argument
Isn't what's being implied here and elsewhere in the Walker propaganda that Neuheisel, Golden, etc. can't recruit in Los Angeles because they're not black? White coaches can't even "go where DeWayne and Scott have been" or find "directions to the the Southern California high school coaches" that are sending players to college.
If we hire a coach who brings back winning to UCLA, who instills pride in the program, that coach won't need to "find directions" to anybody - they'll be coming to him! Also, the idea that only a black head coach can recruit black players is obviously not true - and racist! Do we think that players and their parents and coaches make decisions about their futures based on the race of a coach? Wouldn't things like the excellence of the program, the likelihood of the player developing in that program, the academics of the college - wouldn't those types of things factor more into a decision about a young man's future than the race of the person making the offer?
People who thought Dorrell should be fired were routinely accused of being "racists" (see Kurt Streeter). Now, some of the same people who were making those accusations are saying we shouldn't hire certain coaches - because of their RACE. Basing decisions on the race of a person - isn't that the definition of RACISM?
Petey at $uC hasn't had much trouble recruiting in Los Angeles. Why? Because his program is winning. And guess what - Petey is WHITE! Imagine that, black players signing up to play for a white head coach because his program is winning! Who gave Petey the "directions" to the Los Angeles high schools? Did Petey have trouble "going where DeWayne and Scott have gone"?
If Walker's brother wants to make an argument why he should be hired, he should stick to arguing facts, not hinting around at how he needs to be hired because of his race.

I humbly submit
Other than that, yes, those who were playing the race card earlier where not only the true racists then, but they are the racists now as well due to their implications.
Bull's eye
Good Job Tommy -- You Nailed IT
It didn't save KD and it won't get DW a job for which he is not qualified.
For those of you who watched...
The same applies with recruiting. A white guy like Pete Carroll can recruit, as can so many other Caucasian coaches. If you win or have a will to win, you get players. Coach Howland gets kids like Arron Afflalo from Compton; did his race stop them? Can you argue that there is a comfort zone? Of course, but just like Coach Wooden, good coaches get the top players and win. Would we ever make the assumption that a black coach would not be able to coach white players? That Tony Dungy can't connect with Peyton Manning, or Lovie Smith with Brian Urlacher? This argument is ridiculous.

Besides any racial claims
Let's take a look at Walker's coaching career (from his bio on the official site):
[1988-1992, Mt. San Antonio College]
1993 Utah State
1994 BYU
1995 Oklahoma State
1996-1997 Cal
1998-2000 New England Patriots
2001 USC
2002-2003 New York Giants
2004-2005 Washington Redskins
2006-2007 UCLA
Supposedly Walker has been recruiting SoCal since the mid-90s. Being as generous as possible, I'll take that to be his whole Division 1 career, starting in 1993. It's legitimate to claim he recruited around here for each of those schools, especially for BYU and Cal. And he's definitely recruited around here for USC and UCLA. I would like to know, though, what kind of recruiting he did in SoCal for the Patriots, Giants, and Redskins. Scouting, maybe. But that'd be just college players. He can't sign high school athletes straight to the NFL. He wasn't recruiting them to go anywhere 98-00 and 02-05. 7 of the last 10 years, he hasn't been a recruiter. Being generous, he's recruited SoCal for at most 8 years in his 15 years in major jobs.
