Growing Up

All right here is the deal. I had another post written up early this morning. But I am not going to put it up. I will probably put it up tomorrow. I think instead we should all probably at least for one night think about something else besides hoops.

I am heading out with the Mrs. N and meeting up with some friends at our nearest Irish Pub (somewhere around NW DC). We are going to drink down few pints of Guinness and listen to tunes like this:

Ironic I posted that tune considering how much I lampooned the phrase "growing up" during the football season. Doesn't matter though. I trust in Coach Howland.

TOMORROW our boys are going to have the best practice of this season under the best coach in America. Like I said it is much easier for me to believe in a coach and his team given what they have done in last few years. Our boys will grow up.

All right gotta run. Mr. Guinness and Mrs. Bass are waiting for us. And of course I welcome all of you to share with rest of us whatever you are doing to keep your mind off hoops at least for one night.

I always like hearing suggestions for music and BEER.

GO BRUINS.

Did my share last night
I was pissed off when I got home, so I opened the fridge and pounded back a few beers.  Well, this morning I woke up with a headache and I've been tired as hell all day.

I'm glad to see many of you so confident.  As for me, I don't know yet.  I felt great after WSU, but the last two games have caused me to do a great deal of thinking.  Added to that is my dad's "I told you so" attitude.

I want my confidence back.  I know we have the coaching and leadership in place to kick ass.

Ok, so this was supposed to be about forgetting yesterday.  I guess what I will do is sleep this off when I get home.

Damn strange...
I was thinking about putting up a "choose some music to get our team psyched and fans relaxed" thread, but Nestor beat me to it.

For me, last night would have been some scary Henry Rollins band stuff...I was so upset. But, like Bruinbabe, I tossed back a couple and relaxed.

It ain't over, Homies. Our team needs our support.

Covered it last night
Had an apartment party nearby to help me get through the night (The Dos Equis and box wine probably played some part). Can't say it was particularly effective in blocking last night from my mind, but spent the afternoon nursing a hangover while attempting to read for Evidence.

Of course, now I'm watching Virginia's ACC tourney game. At least there has been no mention of last night.

A 12 pack of Sierra Nevada
is chillin' in the fridge.

I'll drink 6 tonight.

Save the other 6 for after the Bruins play their final game this year.

Here's to them tastin' real good on April 2nd!

When Irish eyes are...bloodshot
Here in Chicago, it's time for the St. Patrick's day festivities to commence, so your Guinness and Bass intake sounds perfectly in character. I live in a neighborhood on the South Side called Beverly Hills (no, really, the neighborhood has the only hill that I have seen in Chicago) and the place is loaded with Irish, so much so that the neighborhood hosts the South Side Irish Parade, even bigger than the Chicago St. Patrick's Day parade where they dye the river green. Total drunken craziness, and the weatherman says we may have temperatures in the 40's! Woo hoo.

I'm not doing so well this quarter
Grade-wise...damn these engineering classes. Our team's gift to me was losing so I have more time to study.

Speaking of growing up, I should probably learn how to study instead of thinking about our team for the 12-24 hours before and after one of our games. Maybe I wouldn't be in the hole I'm in now if I knew how to do that. Then again, I'm a senior, it's probably a lost cause at this point. Old dog, new tricks...

Engineering - ouch
I found out after my freshman year that classes where the answers had to be precise wasn't my best thing.  Stuff where the answers were a matter of opinion turned out to be much better for me.

comp sci
Don't worry, I learned 10x more than I did in any of Melkanoff's crap classes within a few months in the workplace. Just keep your head up, cram like hell, and you'll be fine. Although I always hated that ALL my discussions were stuck on Fridays...

Tonight I saw Wicked at the Pantagous
and then drank a lot when i returned.

Wicked is amazing.  Anyone in the LA area, go see it ASAP.

Also, anyone near alcohol, drink it ASAP.  Sweet.

have a few golden elks
If you want to take a break from beer, have a few Golden Elks. Although it's really not much of a break :-)
