KD Resorting to Theatrics?

If you missed this in the DB, I don't blame ya, it was BURIED in an article about walk-on qb's.

"HOLLYWOOD INJURY: During a 7-on-7 drill on Thursday, defensive tackle Kevin Brown went down with what looked to be an ankle injury but was actually just a nice acting job.

"That's part of the drill," coach Karl Dorrell said. "That's part of our strategy defensively - find ways to stop the clock. He must have done a good job."

Ok, so we're resorting to play acting to stop time? How about saving some timeouts?!  Goddamn I hate it when players fake injuries, in soccer, hockey, baseball, basketball, football, etc.

GO BRUINS!!

Unbelieveable
Plus, if you really are going to fake injuries as part of your defensive strategy, why would you advertise it so that all the world (other teams, other coaches, REFEREES) can read about it?

Please someone:  stop the train now.  It's headed toward a cliff.

LOL
What do you gain from acting injured in Baseball, Basketball or Hockey?

Ok...maybe not hockey...
...but for baseball - players fake injuries to get put on the DL (strategically if the player isn't doing well or the team needs to determine if they are going to keep him or not)

for basketball - little floppers

I Really Wanted
to get a Floppy Vlade doll. Do you remember those? It was a stuffed doll that looked like Vlade that had REALLY long arms and legs. Any time he flopped you were supposed to shake it, making the arms and the legs flail about. It was hilarious.

Man I miss those glory days of the Lakers. Thank God Howland is around to keep my basketball hunger satiated.

Gosh, here's a thought...
...HOW ABOUT COACHING YOUR PLAYERS TO BE READY TO LINEUP AT TOP SPEED?!?!?!?

Geez.  First the offense doesn't know how to manage a drive starting on their 20 with less than FOUR minutes left in a half...

...THEN it can't go through a 3rd quarter on the road without calling a timeout...

...THEN it has to teach its players to flop and fake an injury to stop the clock on the goal line -- never mind that if it doesn't work, the other side is running a play while one of our top lineman is doing a Vlade-meets-Dwyane Wade impersonation and is COMPLETELY self-neutralized on the play.

RIDICULOUS.

M

And we will have our vengeance, in this game and the next.

I don't have a problem with this
God knows KD needs to work on his clock management. Maybe this is part of his overall work on managing the clock.

His explanation was funny/strange

that is low
I think this is very poor sportsmanship acting an injury. I think we should play our best game and not resort to classless acts.

Fire Dorrell now!!!

um
im pretty sure he was being sarcastic.

Disagree
I don't think Coach Dorrell is smart enough to be sarcastic.  He hasn't done anything but speak in cliches since he showed up in Westwood.
